I was suggesting that Neil Peart is a well known excellent drummer, and then she mentioned Gene Hoglan, who is also badass, but in a completely different way.

Travis WASN'T anything special, just an average drummer.

I was joking about "what's a youtube" but my only choices were "either you're old or haven't listened to Blink182" so I had to make a sarcastic remark.

I'm not old, I appreciate talent and good music, Blink182 sucks IMO, and I've seen Travis play, it's my opinion that there is no big loss to the world.

While I do enjoy travis' energy and I am happy that he survived, he certainly isnt one of the "best ever"
I do like his ability to jump into any genre and not seem out of place though.

However, I have been lucky enough to hang out with Mike Mangini on two occasions and I have to say that they arent many that are playing today who are even close. He is the worlds fastest drummer in all disciplines and has been for some time.

If you have a chance check some of his stuff on youtube. His flight of the bumblebee will amaze you. Also check out some of his stuff with Steve Vai......amazing!

its not just ur drumming skills that make you good. Watch the first 2 miniutes of this video to see how he is in the studio. Its his ability to change the music an direct that makes him a good drummer. he actually tells mark to change the riff but keep the same tempo.. an the song ended up sounding awesome ... way better than it would have.. just a tiny example of some of the other things hes good at. aside from loving really kickass cars and being extremely buisness minded..
