well went to the city today, there is a moratorium good until February 16th halting dispensaries. I only bring this up because I will be starting a dispensary soon but at the moment just planning and getting a website done. Attached the docs for your info.

I'm just a little curious as to why you would try to establish this type of business when this is clearly the direction LE is trying to steer the state away from? I understand an opportunity to start your own business and I am by no means trying to be negative here. Ferndale and Waterford were made to be examples and will most likely be a basis for how the law will be updated moving forward. Good luck to you, I just hope you don't end up in the same spot those folks are now in.

This was approved by the city, It's just a matter of time. The moratorium was set up so they can get their ducks in a row and can regulate it to keep the community safe. In the news article and from what I hear in the community it's going to happen as far the municipality goes, and Wayne county hasn't perused any cases so I feel confident and safe. Its all ready been sent to the zoning and planning commission according to the clerk. Not sure if you know, they do the downriver compassion meetings and big smoke outs over in Groose Isle the next city over and never no problems, infact I hear through the grape vine a guy on the city council over there is part of the organizing and owns the Urban Gardening center

How I also assume this is safe......I never mentioned my home was broken into last Friday and I decided to call the cops. I'm a risk taker and I have been to jail before. I'm not afraid. It takes risks to get any where. Needless to say they came and took the duck tape the thieves used to bust open my front window and said they would run it for prints, after the uniformed cops left and the detective came he smelled the grow and asked if I was growing. I said yeah, and said I'm a caregiver. He asked if he could count the plants, I laughed and sai with no warrant. But like I told hime If I was doing something illegal I would have something to hide. I went and unlocked the room and allowed him to count them and that was about it. He glanced over my cards and paperwork and went back to the break in investigation. I have 54 plants going and had 7 sitting ready to pick, as well as a few ounces drying. I did not tell the police I had meds stolen. the thieves made off with 3.5 o's dry, another 5 from the drying rack and took only 1 plant from a bucket but were kind enough to leave behind everything else :)

Very sorry to hear about your break in. I am very cautious about who knows what I do, but you never know. I hate thieves. I hope they catch these guys and throw their punk asses in jail.

Sure seems like you have done your due diligence here. Good luck and keep us updated on how everything goes with the planning commission.

so what happened between lol no warrant and him counting them? did he talk you into it?

what did they break in for? do you think it was for the meds? or something else?

Yeah, can only move forward and not let it stress me. My heart was pumping because I wanted to rip the fuckers heads off and yeah a little because i was taking a chance calling the cops, but know another friend over in New Boston who had the cops to his house a year ago and they did the same things, checked his card, counted plants, made sure it was locked up.

But before I even called the cops I went and started looking for the dude, then came back locked everything up and called them. But I think it was a patient of mine who unfortunately I have known for 20 years. Not to mention he begged for Decembers free meds all ready and I caved in and gave them to him. He obviously has more serious issues. But I was out with him one night and wrecked my car downtown and he got me a ride home other then that I wouldn't have had the shady fucker to my place and he is the only one I can think of, because nothing was torn apart, but its also really not worth my time looking for clues and stressing, next crop comes in a month with twice the plants. I learned my lesson. And yeah def came for meds, went right to the stash spot and then went into the grow room, took some goods drying on the rack and ripped out the last blue cheese, and thank god because its a waste of space.

Cops? Nah didn't need a warrant, I let them in, like I said I'm completely legal and have nothing to hide. The uniformed cops didn't say nothing and were here for 30 minutes before the detective got here. It wasn't till after the uniforms left the the detective asked if I was growing. I've lived here a long time and the cops only fuck with the dirt bags. I even live within 1000 feet of a school. If you read what the mayor says "It’s not a question of whether the city will allow it — it’s a question of where" and this relates to dispensaries. Growing they have no problem with so long as you follow state guidelines.

living in drug free school zone is okay, the law requires you do something illegal and then the punishment is increased if your within 1000 ft. so until you do something illegal you can be within 1000 feet of a school. put it this way, if you start selling out of your house and get caught now your distributing in a drug free zone rather then distributing.

Brings up a good question. Can you have a steel door to your grow room with a key lock on it? Like a normal door? Or do you need an actual master lock?

Federally it is all illegal which is where the drug free scool zones was started, I think Nancy Reagen, and so living esp close to a school zone which is what worried me. As far the door, I have just a padlock with a latch, nothing special. Locked or not they would get in this lil thing, but it complies with the law obviously.

I am going to have a key lock on mine and thinking about a latch that I can put a pad lock through as well. A little extra security I guess.
