well im going into week 5 or 6 of some bag seed. its had trichs all over it for a couple weeks now. so i decided to bring my scope out there and look at the trichs under magnification. 5% were clear and 90% were cloudy and 5% were amber. i looked at 4 budsites and seen the same thing. shouldnt they still be clear? i dont know exactly what week im on it started flowering naturally outside a while ago around the soltice (june 21st) give or take a week

Ive currently got some autoflowers on the go, on 6.5 weeks right now. They all still have at least half the hairs still white, with new hairs appearing each day. Checked the trichs yesterday just out of curiosity - expecting to see mainly clear with a few cloudy and no amber - and found more cloudy than clear and surprisingly one or two amber. Now all of the strains are supposed to be Indica dominent, but I was still surprised with what I found, when they are meant to have a lifespan of about 10 weeks. But then the evidence is there, the trichs are saying they're reaching their peak. This equally applies to you I would say - those trichs shouldn't be lying.

How do the flowers/buds look? What colour are the hairs? Mainly brown? Is it still throwing out new white hairs?

If they look good, with mainly brown hairs and few if any new white hairs - then I would suggest flushing, and keep an eye on the trichs. If the amount of amber starts to increase - chop asap. If it doesn't, and the plant keeps growing ok then let her go untill the amount of amber does start to increase and then chop asap.

Hope that helps - although of course, it is only one of many ways it could be dealt with. :peace:

but thats exactly what happened to me and thats the thing i have some brown hairs but most of them are white. i also noticed the difference between clear and cloudy and amber i seen all three it just blew my mind that they are all cloudy almost i would think they should be clear till i got closer to the end

Just because they are mainly cloudy now does not mean they are going to turn all to amber quickly - although they might, hence my suggestion. Prepare yourself for chopping, but don't commit to doing it untill the trichs start to amber up.

Hope it all turns out good for you :-)

I have a 6-7 week plant (+ 1 month veg), so this is not uncommon. Like others said you can wait until you see more amber, which shouldn't be long.

Peace out

there are different types of highs to and they stem from what color you chop in to cut at clear get weak weed, cut at cloudy get super strong weed
but not long lasting, and amber you get a less agressive high but longer lasting. Its all up to what your looking for, and then theres cbc for pain

If it was me i would not go solely based on the browning of the hairs , their are some bad ass strains out their that does not have alot of brown hairs

I would get a microscope and go by the trichomes , that way you can have more control of what type of high you get

If they are ready all the buds should look like buds.

I don't know where you are located but in New England our outdoor plants start flowering around the end of July to mid August and the harvests start early October and goes as long as you can let them go for some sativa dom strains.

Is it an auto flowering strain?

it flowered around june 21st. at least thats when i noticed bud growing on it. i was guessing i was going into week 6 but i could be a couple weeks off too i did noticed in spots it was starting to look like bud but not nearly the whole buds yet

He's already done that - and doing it caused the issue which required this thread. :peace:
I know he has a scope , i was just saying in general to use the scope and harvest by the trichomes instead of going by the brown hairs

He asked if the trichomes was supposed to be clear and i told him no and posted a chart

heathaa ,

From what your saying that your trichome ratio is you got very little to go before you hit the 50/50 mark and have that nice head and body high with a couchlock ending

I have a Blue Mystic in my micro cab that is right about at the 50/50 mark , maybe by next week it will be fully 50/50 , then im gonna chop

You know how you like your highs so just chop by the trichomes so you can get what you want

I just looked at the link to your grow and so far it looks great. They do look to be about 4 weeks flowering but that's about it. They look to have about that long left to go. You've gone this long so just wait it out. Harvesting now you'll end up with half the bud you would've got and it'll be imature..
