Trichomes Are My Arch-Nemesis

For whatever reason, the part of growing I always have the hardest part with is getting the harvest window right. Whenever I use a magnifier/lens, I can never get a clear picture. It's always blurry and you never know which trichomes are refracting light making them appear to be differently colored.

The strain, Mango sapphire, started flowering with about a week left in July (I'm pretty sure) and only has a 50 to 55 day flowering time. That means it should be done about now. But when I look at the trichomes, I'm fairly certain I can still see clear trichomes with magnification. Magnification. With no magnification it looks ready to harvest. See the following pics:

Some plants are stubborn. They won’t start producing milky trichomes till they’re 100% orange on hairs . I see several white hairs still , I think you have some time on the clock . Could be 5 days , could be 20. Check them daily with a good jewelers loop , or an active eye on your cell phone

Red hairs haven't shriveled enough.

Wait for majority of pistils to brown and recede, then start looking at trichomes.

It's more of a whole plant thing and you should include a pic of whole plant to better determine where you are. That said this is what you look for.....all white pistils have turned dark and pulled in tight, plant will slow way down on water consumption, leaves will show signs of senescence, and last of all trichs on calyxs are all cloudy with whatever % amber you prefer.
Finish times provided by breeder are almost always too optimistic....ignore them....she'll be done when she's done.
