plants need a dark period to grow right 20 on 4 off at least.

I just didn't think it produced trichomes in veg. But I have take 6 clones from it lol so hopin its a sign of a strong hash pheno or somethin

you are making a plant do something that isn't natural, at night the roots do their thing with the stuff the plant makes with the light if it is deprived of the dark it will do weird shit. where in nature is there 24 hours a light? don't fuck with mother nature she don't like it.

lol ok man. Not sayin it couldn't be a reaction to stress. But most people grow like that.

Countries like Norway, Sweden, Finland and places like Alaska and North Canadaexperience 6 months of daytime during summer (and 6 months of darkness during winters).

I recon if you created a Poll most growers do 24hrs then hit the timer button.

I here what your saying, but is there any science to it? Or is it just to save a little money?

some strains do better with a little dark in veg but yeah most (at leastnon-commercial) growers do 24. Dudes an outdoor purist or somethin i think lol

here is ma 2 cents., So here goes. It is my opinon, based on what I've been taught in and learn with time, read in a botany textbook and later proved by real world experiments that marijuana, as a C3 plant has no need for a dark period or in human terms "rest" period, while in it's in VEGATIVE state. And they will grow roots without any dark period. In fact, while growing 24/0 for 24/7 it is quite "happy" to put it in human terms again. During the FLOWERING state a dark potoperiod is necessary.

That's called a keeper, keep those clones, some do it and like greasemonkey said, even males if you're lucky enough to pull one. For veg I use 20/4 myself just through observation and trying a bunch of schedules, I found I was getting healthier plants and about the same rate of growth at 20/4. Doesn't mean in your environment 24/0 wouldn't work as well. Plants don't need "sleep", they need good environments to grow, nothing else.

That's some solid science right there. Bravo

f its a male could I hermie it to keep those traits or would pollinating a dank female definitely produce seeds with that quality?

You wouldn't want to hermie/stress the male but keep a clone going and collect some pollen, then find a female with similar traits that you like, from there on in it's a matter of using breeding techniques to stabilize and get consistent phenos, long story on that one, there are many threads dedicated to breeding - lol.
