Trichs on leaves versus bud?

do u take the leaves inside away from the hps, as sometimes the red light can filter through the clear heads and give an amber tinge,..

Can anyone answer this without asking more questions?
someone had mebntioned the trichs on the leaves being older than the trichs on the bud.. this is a fact. you should always go by the bud, and never the leaves. BUT its very important to take more than one sample, and from more than one location(budsite), that way you get an idea as far as how the whole plant is, rather than just one bud. some buds on the plant are older than others so you will get the same thing

Thanks for the responses. Do you think chnaging the light cycle to more dark time would maybe speed up the trichs? I was actually thinking about keeping them in complete darkness the last few days before harvest anyway. I have begun to flush, hope it's not too early, but technically they were only supposed to go 70 days.

well i have never noticed a gain in potency from leaving them in darkness but it does seem to do wonders for the taste

I wasn't so much looking for increased potency from that, but more to speed up the maturation of the trichs. Does that sound right?

As the trichs get mature the stronger they get. Wait too long and they lose potency. After they reach amber they degrade. You are not going to speed it up.

I have read a few articles about decreasing light can speed up the process before harvest. It's supposed to tell the plant to hurry up. Didn't know weather that applied to the trich's as well.
