Here are some questions for the experts.
I use happyfrog soil with worm castings and 2 liter soda bottles duck taped for light blocking. It seems to work fine for my SoG. I like the forgiving aspect of soil as I am a still a newbie I dont want to risk my crop with the unforgiving nature of hydro, but for cloning I dont think it can be beat.
I have a home made aero cloner that seems to work better as a DWC cloner so thats how I use it. I change the water every other day but I still get slime on some of the stems. Some times its a thin even layer over the stem and sometimes its like a ball at the end, almost in the shape of a Q-tip.
I cant seem to find out what the substance actually is. Is it living? Should I pull the clones with the slime or just wipe it off with tissue paper? Is it in all the water ready to contaminate the rest of the clones or will they be fine. I run a perpetual SoG grow so the clones are at different stages of development all the time, and the cloning never stops. How much of a problem do I have? What should I do? Thanks.
