The Dr who did the study has repeated it 3 different times Dr Stephanie can't remember her last name she did an interview with Shane from Migro YouTube channel check it out only 45 minutes long watch that then tell me your unconvinced and i don't care what you do with your weed as I recall you're the one who made a post asking when to flush and you got the same answer everyone gets us anti-flush guys as you like to call us are just growers like you with a different opinion you have already clearly done the harvest bingo research flush 1-2 weeks 48hrs darkness ect I wish you could do a word search of all the post on hear I bet the two phrases with the most hits would be "when do I flush" and "should I leave in 48hrs darkness before chopping" but it always makes me laugh
OP, I've watched this video, very interesting. Makes a lot of things we as cannabis growers do look silly.
You've gotten some good advice here. We're not anti-flushers. Just experienced growers.
As Jules 76 mentioned, you can't flush organic soil or outdoor grows.
Which are the most natural grows there are.
I like to use the word leach. Because basically as a soil grower using salts, I sometimes have to do that while growing. Rarely, but sometimes.
You can flush your soil, you can't flush a plant.
And your plant needs energy to finish it's best. It can't do that on plain water alone. Unless you're in amended soil.

As far as your plants, they still have weeks to go. Too many whiteys still.
Also your calyx to leaf ratio is still high. Could be pheno, but I think those buds can swell up quite a bit more.
Good luck.

Sounds good. Thanks for your opinion, man.

It's cool if people like the guy before you want to cry about their opinions not being validated by my plans...didn't attempt to answer my question nor offer any real advice. Class act. He just cried for a bit. No sweat off my back.
I've read enough threads on this website over the years to know that's how it goes. A troll can't troll without being a troll. Thanks for the warning though.
He wasn't trolling. It was a nice way of saying your plans are stupid and hoping you might figure that out.

But hey it's your first grow, you obviously know better then people with real experience. Besides they are your plants, no one really cares what you do with them.

You can interpret the info any way you'd like. Those studies seem anecdotal to me, but I'll try looking for the interview you're referring to.
Still, which you seem to be ignoring, the chemical analysis showed no difference between either technique. Therefore, either way will work. It's weird that you're all so against it...It's just a different point of view, right? No need to get bothered by it.

It's fine that people have different opinions...that's what makes the world what it is. Some others have answered the questions I asked and offered helpful ideas, but the bunch who are against the idea of feeding water-only before harvest are very aggressive and tend to attack ideas they don't like...rather than reason through things and actually try to explain their position and offer useful info.

Like I said before - doesn't always have to be a fight, doesn't always have to be an argument. You guys come out aggressive, but then at the same time act like you couldn't care less about anything anyway...It's quite amusing to see the thought process.

Lol a nice way of saying that...yea got it.

It's funny that you fit right into the description in a reply I just posted...take some time to say some shit, offer no new useful info, then act like you couldn't care less.

Funny stuff. Kind of a trend you guys follow.

Makes sense that you can't actually flush a plant. Been a gardener my whole life, just first time with weed, but I've never tried flushing any of my fruits or vegetables prior to harvest, so I guess it makes sense that this wouldn't need it either. Thanks for the input.
I'll have to find that video.

I've been waiting for someone to come up with some convincing science behind 'flushing' your soil before harvest. Because of how a plant takes in nutrients and how it then uses those to metabolize it seems far fetched that adding water will make them give up what they've taken in and already broken down & reused. By what mechanism do they give up the stuff that they've taken from the soil through osmosis? How do they poop out the bad stuff, and how do they know which stuff to poop out?

Some will argue that the 'flush' just removes all the nutrients which stresses the the plant and the plant pushes harder through plant survival instinct to further ripen the buds...again, the how and why of that theory seems oblique at best.

Well put.
I definitely need to do some more research on the topic, but it doesn't seem like the water technique hurts either. Seems like either way produces good results.

I was really more interested in the when and I've gotten some good replies on that front.

Thanks man

It's because most of the people you ask on here have to have this discussion daily, It's always fun though, my point is if the weed is the same why starve your plants in the last 2 weeks of life surely just thinking logically if you feed a plant for 2 weeks and don't feed.a.plant for 2.weeks which plant will be bigger? most people have the same thought about unflushed weed that it taste funny ect but at the least the study proves that wrong so all you need to ask yourself now is the first question
Punctuation just for you Robin lol

It's funny that you lump me into some set group that you have in your mind.

You were given useful information but deemed it worthless apparently. I don't pretend to care less, I don't.

See, the difference is that I never acted like anyone else wants my respect.
Y'all seem to be very confused as to how words work. I get it, not part of your arsenal. And again, just like the others, you've added nothing of value to the conversation.

Thanks for wasting your time lol

Likewise... And Welcome

I get it, I see your point. Makes sense.

My entire point regarding this issue is that helpful information was not offered by them. Instead, very juvenile, snarky responses were provided and I find it amusing that they get so upset about someone asking a question. It's cool if you've heard the question before and it annoys you, but I've never asked it, so that's neither here nor there. If you're annoyed by it, move on. Simple as that. But they don't do that because they really just want to argue with someone. It's typical internet troll behavior.
And again, taking the time to reply proves the "I don't care at all" mantra to be false.

It's all rather funny to me, but it's to be expected...a lot of people think they know so much more than everyone else...and only their opinion matters, so they have to attempt to make others feel less than for not thinking the same thing they think.
This has somehow turned into being more about the psychology of forum trolls, rather than a helpful thread for a first timer.

Good stuff

4 weeks, dont flush...dem babies need all the food they can get to the end

also, to avoid trolls just say water rather than flush (which implies literally leeching all nutes out of your soil)

@ Everyone else...this is the newbie forum, you guys are picking literally on newbs.
