Don't know if this helps, but here goes:

A couple of years ago, I used to get up to eight strains at once. What I noticed was on all the indica dominant strains (LA Confidential, PK, Afgoo) that the leaves are trimmed pretty much right up to the bud, even sometimes inside the bud. That's because indicas make more resin stalks and glands on the buds themselves.

The sativas on the other hand (Jack Herer, Trainwreck and a few others I've forgotten about) had little leaves wrapped around some of the buds. The grower didn't trim them because of the amount of resin glands on the little leaves themselves. I think it has to do with sativa being more airy.

As far as my own experience, I tend to trim closer on all types because I like making hash. However, with my Kali Mist/BB/? strain, I leave more of the little leaves on because they really do have a shitload of trichs on them.

I'm sure I'm far from being the authority on this, just a few things I have observed through the years.

yes this does help thanks alot (+reps)..i notice the same thing on buds and his small leafs on her are covered with resin glands..we just dont know if we should hang them so the leaf covers the bud?, should i softly press the leaf to the budds when there still wet so when they dry there stuck to the budd?

Yea, most of the better sativa that I've ever smoked seems like whoever grew it left the smaller leaves on that were closer to the bud because of the trichomb density on the leaves. I'd say if it has tricombs on it leave it, if not, cut it off. It looks really cool with the small leaves on it too, haha. I've never grown a pure sativa, but I'm planning on it. Tell me how, whatever you do to it works out.

Well, personally, I tend to manicure a little before drying, then I hang it upside down if it's sativa with some of the little thuc leaves still on. They then dry around the buds like little cups.

In all honesty, great hash comes from these little guys too. It's a trimmer preference thing. Your yield usually with have something to do with it. I've made bubblehash when I had enough trim, otherwise I just leave as much thc covered stuff leaves that I can....good smokin'! bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie

If you think about all of your kushy stuff, you'll see that a lot of it is just the nugs with an occasional little leaf.

My wife calls them "cute". I dunno. I think they're sexy.
