Trimming leaves at harvest

Hey i have been back and forth on thie subject of trimming and there is always gonna be people who trim all the leaves then hang to dry while others leave them until after they dry then trim before curing. Well 1 thing i have noticed is that on the majority of these bud sites if you look at the pics they all have leaves still there and i would guess thats after drying and curing. I am chopping down my White Widow in the morning and i am leaning towards just giving them a small trim, let hang for 5-7 days and then when its time to cure go thru with another trim but still leaving some leaves. The WW is full of so much resin i want to keep some of the leaves, i thing it will give it more bag appeal and it wont dry out the bud to much so hopefully i can keep it stickey.

Any thoughts on this.

I find it so much easier to trim the fan leaves and non trichome laden ends of the sugar leaves just after cutting when the leaves are still sticking out. A quick clean up when dry and before curing. I've done every which way and this is the fastest for me.

That sounds about right. Take off all fan leaves right away and any leaves that are protruding out beyond the bud. Then you can dry and if needed do a second trim job just before curring. I know it's hard to remove the leaves that have lots of resin on them but they are better for hash as it burns a bit hotter(harsher) than the but so if you leave it on your tastes gets hit a bit by this harsher leaf taste. It still works great but alters the taste a bit. So I like to trim close and use the trim for hash or smoke it while the bud cures and them the bud tastes so much better after sampling the trimming.

i was trimming all the way down immediately after chop, but i recently spoke to a mentor of mine and he informed me it was his personal preference to pluck the ones you can see the stems of off, but leave the ones that are deeper in there, he said he likes to leave them leafy. something about it helping to cure a bit while it dries hanging.

i'm sure this is personal preference, but i just chopped some up tonight and i'm going to try it.

Can you cook the trimmings into butter? That might be a good thing to do with all of those little sugar coated leaves if so. In addition, I read that it takes the buds longer to dry out with the leaves on.

you can also make hash with the crystalized trim.
