Trimming...trim!?! (early smoking...anxious grower)

So I have nothing decent to smoke, and I am waiting on the last weeks of flowering (the part where the bud starts getting denser), and I see these beautiful small leaves covered in trichlomes (the trim, the small leaves around the buds), and although my instincts tell me that it cannot do the plant any good to take them off, after sampling a few, I must say, it was a great cerebral high (the trichlomes have not ripened).

So, any experience on this? I have only taken trim off of one of my plants, curiously it's got the smallest buds of them all (I didn't want to risk it with the other plants), I will be looking to see if they fatten up these last weeks. I am guessing they will. Keep in mind they are very small leaves! I have (of course) left all fan leaves intact.

So, what's your say? Would it hamper the growth to take trim off early or can I just consider it early trimming (haha)?

Just be patient my friend. A few weeks isn't that long to wait. You'd be better off sitting back and letting those ladies finish up before you do something to effect them negatively. You probably could get away with 'stealing' a few nugs or leaves but why risk it.

Trich's cloudy white = racey head stone
Trich's amber = couchlock stone
trich's cloudy white plus amber = mixture of both effects

And yes usually the last 3-4 weeks of flower is when the buds fatten up and produce higher percentages of thc

Just be sure to use nothing but water to flush the grow medium the last few weeks. This will remove any nutrients still in the plants. If you do not flush then the smoke will most likely be very harsh when inhaling.

The most spread bad info in the grow world. No need to flush for weeks on end and starve your plant essential nutrients in it's most crucial ripening stage. If you must flush because 'everyone says so' then only flush for the last 3 days prior to darkness. Your smoke will be fine.

There's so much information on 1-2 week flush before harvest it will take an eternity to undo.

Thanks, but only one person really answered what I asked...

About flushing, I don't bother with it as I use organic nutrients. I put them in the soil, and then just water. I have one for vegging and one which I put before the plants go into flower.

What I wanted to know is if it affects the plant in some way, or if it would just grow more trim and fatten up anyway. So far, the plant has almost answered herself, the one which I trimmed is not showing much progress while the other one is getting fatter by the day.

As I said, it's probably due to genetics as well, but I am hoping it will catch up. If it doesn't, lesson learned.
