I would like to take off a bunch of leaves that are on the underside of my plant. It's on day 9 of flower. Is this ok or is it a bad idea?

depends on how much is a bunch.. cutting a few things early is ok but try to do it over a couple days instead of all at once.. i use the smaller under branches for clones for the next run.

what id do is research lolopoping your plant. basicly you wait until its a few weeks into flower and finished stretching, then u strim off all the growth on the bottom 1/3rd of the plant, particularly the small lateral bud sites, this allows for better air movement and refocuses the enrgy into the upper buds of the plant. Theres extensive documentation on this technique if u google it

Don't remove any of the larger fan leaves until they are more than 50% yellow/brown. The fans contain the organs that allow photosynthesis so the plant can turn light energy into a form of energy it can use. Remove all/most fans and the plant will turn albino and be worthless. It is OK to remove some of the low-hanging suckers than look to be unproductive. Cut them off cleanly right at the main stem with clean sharp scissors. Note -- if you plan on re-growing the plant for a second harvest you don't want to remove any greenery. That light fuzzy stuff growing around the base will be the basis of the re-grow. Just thought you should know. Good luck, BigSteve.

Hmm, I've taken almost all the fan leaves off before and it did just fine (defoliating). I understand that's not the topic, but please do some research before telling people it will be worthless. Good info from the first two responses and do some research before you decide what to do. Peace!!

thanks, everyone. i watched some vids, read a few articles and decided to take a conservative approach. i took off all the growth that was basically growing down toward the soil. this plant is topped and is wedged under a 360 degree scrog. i will be tying things out to the screen as it stretches. i have some solid looking colas. there are plenty of fan leaves left and i figured i would try to experiment with some clones that were in flower. not *sure* what ill do with them yet, but ill figure it out. thanks again for all your thoughts and assistance.
