I wasn't at the memorial, Buck. Though I made this poster for him and it. My Ex was on the mic for a lot of it to help run it. We could only manage to send one of us out there at the time and I was sad to have missed it. I saw Doug at his house right before he went to Thailand. We were family, and we even fought like it on that visit. I went up to the Redwoods for a day and picked out a rock for him that was green and looked like jade. I gave it to him when I was making up and apologizing...he told me that he loved it, and he was sincere and touched. I really have to mean it when I fight with someone and don't talk to them now. Ok I don't remember all that I should have, because my memory has been affected by an illness from when I met him in '99. Sweet Tooth, XXX, 911 were the favorites. The last thing he was working on makes me laugh to tears...he was trying to get a pure sativa from Thailand to work with. The things took something like over 100 days to finish and it was a forest by then! In terms of breeding and sense of taste and smell he was a genius. He also made wine and framboise and those skills translated into some of his cannabis expertise. I think I was in some kind of denial when I saw XXX at my dispensary for the longest time. Then I searched around until I found this thread, and I thought my comment would go unnoticed. So I'm thrilled right now. Thank you! He made me laugh all the time, because his sense of humor was excellent. He would name plants he was killing after Exes, for example. I saw that his genetics are still winning...the 2014 LA wins for the XXX OG came up as the first hits! I think the OG must have been what threw me off from admitting to myself that I had chosen a dispensary that sells a cross of my good old friends' genetics. WOWEE! Way to go Doug.
