Tripp's hillbilly flooded tube copy

So, it sounds to me that if you want to grow using this system, then basically you want to take your clones. Let them root, and then put them straight in to 12/12??? Does that sound right? It seems to me like that would be the way because they'll still grow a bit before switching to full on flower mode. and even then they still grow. The root development seems to be the issue... I REALLY love this system!!!

im guessing the root mass gat so dense
they started actting as damns themselves

maybe, try making a damn slot so that you can insert and remove as needed, at the start of the grow you could have a real high damn like a 3/4 moon damn. gr8 for starting clones right in the tube. then when they root insert a 1/2 moon damn then when its time to flower or when the roots are at there thickest go no moon
you can make a temporary dam out of a sink plunger. Just unscrew the handle from the black rubber partand cut a semi circular hole with a scalpel leaving the outer rim intact. with a bit of practice you can insert it through the last hole before the drop. and remove it if necessary, or for cleaning.it works it's how I do it. you have to get the correct size of plunger, but they're easy enough to find

Nice DIY i bet it was a pain in the ass to setup tho :) you should top them and another thing ppl usally make a mistake with dwc is the res temp keep it around 60f-68-f. And next time you should go with a easier setup ive made setups like this to much work and for the roots you should make a controller bucket ?

great set up! I remember in Heath's thread he said he doesn't veg in that system because of how big the root system gets. YOU can still use pvc & just order the gasketed collars to have the adjustable dams, I read on the web site that you can use it to hook to pvc of the same diameter. They recommend beveling the ends for easier fitting. That is a pretty awesome grow! I have read a few threads of ppl trying to copy heath's design & they all mention about how hard it is to push together.
