Trouble!!!

This is my first time growing indoor, i have grown outdoors with eratic results. With no land of my own it was hard to take care and manicure the outdoor gardens. So i have decides to start a small grow in an empty room im my house. Well needles to say i am having a few issues and just a few questions to see what i can do.

A couple of the plants have started wilting on a few of the leave branches and two of them are smaller than the other two and they were started at the same time. I have been trimming the wilted leaves off but then a different wilts. at this rate im going to just have stems sticking up. I dont know if trimming them off is the right thing to do but i have been.

I have read through a couple of other post about this problem and just wanted some answers to my problems. I know that you guys say only one plant per pot but i have larger pots than everyone else that is having this issue. I water them every other day and give them mirical grow every other watering.

Here are a few pics i have taken to show you.

from the pics the leaves look dark green witch is usually to much n , and the soil looks petty wet try backing of on the water to ever three days and only give them 1/4 strength nutes every other watering it is very easy to overdo it with chem nutes. if you would like a cheap organic nute get some alaska 5-1-1 alaska morbloom 0-10-10 they are not the best but i would recommend it over mg because it will be harder to burn your plants with it and you don't really need to flush with organic nutes like you do with chem nutes

Thanks i will look to change my nutriants. I am currently using 15-30-15. and the reason the soil is so moist is i took the pics right after i watered them. Were would i find the organic nutrients? So with no need to flush i could water with nutrient every watering instead of every other time?

with organics you still only feed every other watering you just don't need to flush before harvest. I'm not sure were you are from but were i'm from you can get the alaska nutes from lowes home depot wal-mart and most hardware stores that sell garden stuff
i would recommend getting a soil moister meter they are a very useful tool for preventing over and under watering and as cheap as they are it almost doesn't make sense not to have one i think it was one of the first things i bought for growing and i will i never be without one

Ok stop watering them every other day, only water when they are dry. You say you have big pots so it will be around a week until you need to water them again. They wont need frequent watering until they are much bigger. What kind of soil are you using? If the soil has nutrients already in it dont feed them anything. Your plants look really dark which means they are are taking in the most they can right now and don't need anymore. If your soil already has nutrients in it then dont start feeding until they start to grow like a lime green on the new growth. Start out on like a 25% nute dose and ramp up.

I am using a nutrient rich soil. So i need to stop with the feed all together? I will get me the soil moisture meter! here are a few more pics so maybe you can see what im talkin about. and its not terrible just want healthy plants.

this is the plant with the bad leaves

this is pic of two plant started same time but different sizes??

some more randoms

from the new pics they don't look to bad just a little to much n get them separated and put them in soil with no nutes . The problem with soil that already has nutes is you don't know how much of what it is getting when you water it and it's getting nutes every time you water so if you over water you are also over feeding if you use soil without nutes you control exactly how much nutes it gets and when it gets it.they don't look to big to transfer just be careful not to damage the roots

i thought you werent supposed to change the soild after they are started because it would shock the plant
This may be true in some cases, but in yours is very much needed.

Your not doing too bad a job. but you def want to get them in seperate containers, for this is the reason some ore bigger than others. STOP using MG for one thing, you should use something organic and introduce it slowly in small amounts. But I wouldnt even do that untill waiting atleast a week after stoping MG use. maybe even after your next watering, slow down a bit on it too, you shouldnt water untill the top half inch of soil is pretty much dry. You can test this by sticking your finger in the soil.

ok i moved the smaller ones to seperate containers but i ripped some of the roots i hope they will come out of it they both look really weak. im stopping the mg thats added to the water but i still have mg soil witth added potash and eggshells. i hope that is still ok i will stop feeding my plants all together just water them. also when i watered i used a spray bottle and just got the top moist so it wasnt soking all the way through. is that a dad thing? should i use a pitcher or something and when the top of the soil is dry soke the soil throughout?

Don't just spray the top of the soil or the water won't reach down to the roots. Water them, with a pitcher or cup when the pot feels light like it doesn't have much moisture left in it. If your soil has nutrients in it, you don't even need to water for the first month. After that, you can follow the nute manufacturer's feeding schedule, but full strength every time is way too much. You can see from how dark green your leaves are that they are getting too much nitrogen.

Dont water them for a whole month on the count of nutes??? ... thats a first

Good thing you transplanted, the ripped roots may shock the plant and slow growth a bit for a few days but they should make it. Yes its a bad thing that you didnt compleatly water the plants, for the first wwatering especialy you should water enough for it to start slowly seaping from the bottom of the container. Its okay to water with a spray bottle, I use one. It doesnt compact the soil as much as pouring it on would, so the roots can breathe a little better.

Yea they are transplanted and i did rewater after transplant because soil was getting pretty dry and also added a little new soil to other pots. i do have a ? about lighting i think its enough but i dont wana go threw all this with no end results. i have two standard shot lights with a homemade hood attached with four growlux bulbs 1" diam 48" long 32W or 30000 heures.

If thats what your using you might wanna move the ligths a little closer. but that will do the job just dont expect anything fanominal. More light = more bud.

when i get some extra cash i will buy a 600 watt setup will it hurt to change lights in middle of grow or should i wait until these plants are done?
