True Beginner / Poor Man's Grow

Waddup everybody?? So I've got a problem in my flowering cab at the moment. 2 of my plants are suffering from a twist and turn from the top inch to 2 inches of growth. They look like they have way too much N and have endured terribly bad temps. I quit feeding them about a week ago, and think I have figured out what my problem is. One I'm positive my temps are too high, so I'm sure this plays a small (yes small) role. I've had trouble with Fungus Gnats for the past couple of months and havn't really had much to take care of them with. Eventually they just got to be too much and I decided to go out and by some dish soap. All the store here in town had was Ivory Ultra. It seems like ever since I started using this the plants have started to fall....It's taken me a little while to notice, but I'm pretty sure with a few more plain waterings and they'll bounce back. One of my room mates friends came in town for a visit and brought a 1/4 of some good good he bought back home. We found some seeds :) As soon as I saw that thing drop on the table I said :hubba_hubba-404: :kissass: :thank_you-1098: :thank_you-1098: :thank_you-1098: :you_rock-1295: ;) So needless to say I will have some fairly more potent genetics in the closet here pretty soon. The name of it was :rolling_eyes-1314: green dinosaur. Apparently it was named for the technique it was grown?? Lol I ::) when he told me that, but either way it's more potent than what I have now.

Shortcake and Ariel were the plants hit by the sickness, but Ariel has seemed to shake back already. Shortcake however is taking her time on this recovery.

I knocked off a top one day on accident a couple months back, and it rooted. It's going crazy now, I need to start thinking of a name for her...she's going in the flowering cab soon. Suggestions Welcome!

Here is the last gram of weed from the 2 harvested buds by Cinderella. (Gonna be a good blunt once cured :)) I'm Well pleased with the turn out of this weed. Brick weed or not it's still twice as potent as it was when I bought it.

Guess Im heading to first page and get all caught up,and see if i can find some good info nuggets... (meanwhile back in the rabbit hole).....
 
Nothing too special going on here today...The plants are in their last swell period now. My guess is 1.5-2 weeks and they'll be ready to go. You never know though, they might have another 4 Lol. Anyway I added The biggest clone I had into the closet. I only received one response on a name for her so I went with it. The newest addition into the flowering closet is "bitch."
 
i missed you askn for help on a name! bitch worx! im not any good at names for plants.i named my space jill,but kinda after a dear friend.i call her lovelee.never named a plant before this.other than the ruhtard!

The seeds were more than likely some brick weed I had. She took a lot of training, I really didn't think she was going to make it all the way around the cup, but she did!
I'll stop by your thread in a little bit and check out your grow!

Have an update coming in a minute....still re-sizing pictures and junk.
 
Waddup!?!? So I've been looking for a job the past couple of days....nothings come up yet. Hopefully I will hear back from somebody soon because rents due by the fifth :/ My landlord seems pretty understanding and I'm pretty sure if I found a job soon he'd let me pay it a little late. Anyway, enough of that.....the plants are doing wonderful :) I will definitely be buying some Jack's as soon as I get a job, so I'm pretty sure that will help a lot of my nutrient problems. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to ride it out with the rest of the MG soil that I have, and baby them from the start. Once I'm done with this bit of MG hopefully I will have the opportunity to move to a bigger city. Mandy is looking beautiful...filling up just like Cinderella. My guess is she has a good 2-3 weeks. I am in no hurry right now since I'm trying to clean up just in case I have to take a piss test, so I'll let her go as long as she needs. Shortcake is still retarted looking....I've decided maybe I just have way too much Cal/Mag??? Never really have tested the ppm of my tap water. Best news of all................

Waddup everybody!? It's been about a week since my last update. Not a whole lot has happened in my parts, except a fellow grower of mine has given me some seeds. I have a few strains I can't wait to try, and I'll let you guys know more about that, as the time comes. I'm not real sure what's gonna be happening in the next couple of months, because my lease will be up and I might have to move. Hopefully we can get a hold of our landlord and resign our lease, otherwise I'll have to decide where to move. So until I figure out what my living situations are going to be past August I will stick with the bagseed that I have now. My 75/25 Plant should be ready in the next 2-5 days, I'm pretty excited about that! She sprouted on 3/1/11, and started 12/12 around 3/11/11. She obviously has been through a bunch of trouble, and has taken forever! Right behind her will be Mandy. My guess is Mandy has about 10-18 days left. Shortcake is still taking a beating from whatever it was that she was sick. I'm pretty sure that the problem has something to do with my water....I've PH'd is with drops and it says my water is around 6.0, but I havn't had a meter that could test Calcium (I think? Unless that's the other dropper in the kit, pretty sure it might say chlorine though). Wednesday I put my #6 top clone into the flowering closet to continue the cycle just in case we don't have to move. #6 is coming along quite nicely now and I'm pretty sure somewhere around the beginning of August she'll be ready. Also, my Hydro plant Ariel is doing wonderful again! She finally shook back from that sickness and is LOVING the new MG Bloom Booster 15-30-15 that I put in there. Hopefully I can pull her out in a week or 2 and possibly do a scrog on Daphney, because she has a solid 5-6 main branches now and is already 20" tall. She's almost uncontrollable Lol.

And for my favorite girl :) Erin. Erin is doing great! :) She is still suffering a little bit from the sickness, but has started taking the BB as well. In fact all of my plants have. Anyway, Erin is putting on some bud now, and I'd say within 3-4 weeks she'll really start looking like some weed :hubba_hubba-404:

This is it!

I'm having a problem with my plants right now, They start yellowing from the bottom up which obviously is a N def....I'm also pretty sure that they are receiving way to much Mag which is making the N lockout. I have a brita water filter thing that I tried using once, but after I ran the water through I tried using PH Drops to PH the water, and it just turned dark dark red. My PH normally soil PH normally sits around 6.5-6.8, and I use tap water that has been given 3 days to evaporate.

Take a look at last weeks update (Shortcake) as she is showing the worst signs of the top leave nastyness. It's starting to come back to all of my plants now :/
 
Have you ever thought about growing in 1 gallon smart pots? Why are you only growing in party cups? Is it a contest? I am trying to figure out what exactly you are feeding your plants. A good run down of your last feeding on Shortcake would help greatly and a pic of her too with this yellowing. From what I read I dont think your using anything with "N" I could be wrong but also list the nutes you are using and their N-P-K values. Thanks

I'm pretty sure I narrowed the yellowing down to my nutes. I was using MG All Purpose Nutes (24-8-16) at a teaspoon a gallon, and have switched over to MG Bloom Booster (15-30-15). The yellowing is going away, but the top part of Shortcake and Bitch now look terrible lol. I won't have my charger until tomorrow so I won't be able to upload pics until then. Just look at last weeks update for pictures of the droop.
 
Damn those got some "N", good! What I recommend you do is get 1 gallon of water from your sink and pH it to 6.0 (Yellow on your drop tester) Pour exactly 4 party cups of it through your Shortcake Plant (Assuming she is in a Party Cup). After you pour all 4 party cups of 6.0 pH tap water, wait 15 minutes and give her low dosage of nutes.

I did see some of your other pics and saw some clawing and heavy green leaves which means too much "N".

Hope that helps and till I see pics of Shortcake I cant really pinpoint whats wrong. A real good flushing will help her a lot and will give her soil a clean slate. Just make sure you pH the water you flush her with at 6.0.
