We are all aware of how unreliable poll projections were in 2016 in calling the winner. Some celebrate that and others are still spooked. The difference between this election and 2016 is how stable the race has been ever since it became clear that Biden was going to be the Democratic Party's nominee. There have been no October surprises. No scandalous stories affected Biden's chances. Trump could not change people's minds about him whatsoever. Trump's appearances during the early days of the Coronvirus task force meetings did nothing for him and might have hurt him with the few undecideds. The civil unrest in the aftermath of the George Floyd's murder did not result rise in popularity as it did for Nixon during the summer of unrest in 1968. Trump tried to stir up a backlash, he even sent a goon squad to Portland to show how strong he is but the tactic failed. Throughout the election, Trump has been the loser with no plans for how to improve. It now comes down to how many people Republicans can disenfranchise in a few states. New voters and heretofore undecideds are choosing Biden. Record turnouts and record numbers of early votes being cast all spell it out.

I seen Donald today on TV at the RNC, he had the look of a loser and knows how helpless he is now, his fate is in the hands of the people he is doing his best to kill.

USPS ordered to have postal inspectors sweep some facilities by 3 p.m. ET for election mail

Judge Emmet Sullivan of the US District Court of the District of Columbia ordered the United States Postal Service to sweep all processing facilities by 3 p.m. ET in a number of states, including some critical battleground state.

The order mandates that USPS postal inspectors "or their designees" must start sweeping the processing facilities by 3:00 p.m. ET.

According to the order, this is,

"to ensure that no ballots have been held up and that any identified ballots are immediately sent out for delivery."
The sweeps must be conducted in the following USPS districts:

Central Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, Detroit
Colorado/Wyoming
Atlanta
Houston
Alabama
Northern New England (New Hampshire and Maine)
Greater South Carolina
South Florida
Lakeland (Wisconsin)
Arizona
Seven battleground states are conducting sweeps and do not allow ballots to arrive after Election Day. They include: Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida, New Hampshire, Arizona, and Maine.

I will have to go there some time. I feel like I owe those cities something for making this election a landslide for Biden.

Biden won the popular vote by more than 4 million votes. It has been sixteen years since a Republican candidate has received a majority in the national vote. Since then, they have dwindled in state governments and Congress. They barely hung on in the Senate.

But today it's all about saying the words:

President-elect Joe Biden

I like the sound of it. Sounds clean and free from corruption.

Yes! What a relief . I realize things are still going to be hard until Trump gets officially bumped but I have faith President Biden and his team will be working hard and preparing for immediate help once he is allowed . We need more testing ASAP! My close coworker is no longer with me for his room mate tested positive and he has to quarantine for 14 days and wait for days until he gets his Covid Test results . We both should have been tested yesterday but we had no access to rapid testing . I was told by HR I didn’t need to get tested at all .

It's shocking to me that we aren't testing millions of people per day and our healthcare workers should have access to testing whenever they ask for it. My brother in law works in the healthcare system in Seattle. He just asks to be tested and he gets it. The state set up a system with University of Washington and it just gets done. No waiting.

It's going to be a few more months before things can change but after that, I hope to hear that things are better for you and your coworkers.

But then again, this is why Trump lost by a landslide. Democrats are better at running a government.

They just don’t care around here. I was feeling ill about a month ago and went to Urgent care on a Sat. I wanted a Covid Test and got one along with some meds for my sore throat and earache. The doctors note said for me to stay at home and quarantine until I got my results . I immediately text my supervisors and coworker to let them know the situation. As soon as I got my neg I went to back to work . That was 2 and a half days of work I missed . When I clocked In from returning I saw my supervisor took out that time as PTO!! I was so pissed. I immediately got in touch with HR and told them I had a Dr note saying to stay home and I wanted this time taken out of my Covid Relief 14 day fund all employees were allotted . I got it changed and my PTO back but that’s the kind of management support I have and I hate it! I hope to be out of here by the new year. My contract is up in Feb so ASAP at this point.

I just stayed home and toked on my home grown. Its a local strain called Mastodon, mostly indica.

But really, I had zero interest in getting high until after I figured out what had happened.

After the poll numbers started to stabilize I did some of my own ciphering, I took a deep breath, cracked open a beer and poured myself a shot of whiskey, toked a couple of hits through my bong and that was it for the evening. Because by 10 pm, Tuesday night, Oregon time, it looked like Biden had won.

I know there is a huge silent Democratic population in Okie. I really think they just declared defeat and did not go out to vote. I have sooooo many patients that tell me they hate Trump with a serious passion. Especially the Older Female Okies. I had a convo with one today when She asked me to put on CNN . I told her it’s one of my fav news stations and she told me it’s the only one that tells the truth and asked me who I voted for.
I told her I felt uncomfortable around here telling anyone because they all love Trump. But, decided that this might be a women that needs some bonding . So, I shut the door and looked deeply into her eyes and told her the truth. I voted for Joe Biden.
A great sigh of relief exuded from her body and she passionately unleashed her hatred for Trump and said she didn’t give a fuck anymore if people know how much she hates trump and on and on. Wow!
