Yeah? They lost the election with more favorable numbers than Trump. Romney also received 2 million less primary votes than Trump, especially in swing states.

even if trump got the same share of hispanic votes that mccain or romney did, the turnout of white voters would have to go up by about 6% or so for him to have any chance to win.
with numbers like trump is currently pulling, the percentage of the electorate that is white would have to skyrocket to levels not seen in 40 years, nevermind that the white turnout has been shrinking by a point or two every election.
