Texas prides itself on being the most conservative state just as California prides itself as being the most liberal.
One needs to loosen up while the other needs to rein it in.
Going to the extremes, in either direction, never works.
Keep things rolling roughly down the middle and everyone is happy.

Sorry to hear about your trip through Texas. I hope one of my kind repays you with a bit of good karma some day.

Every single state that has legal weed got it thanks to a democrat leading the fight, every one of them. Florida lost the battle thanks to republican efforts to legally rig the election, 100% above board election interference. What do I mean? Did you know that Florida actually had something like 57% YES'es on the recreational pot ballot in this election? Still lost. In Ohio last year, that was all it took..anything over 50%. In Florida however the republicans convinced the population a while back to make their threshold for any given ballot to be at least 60% of the vote before it passes effectively eliminating any possible threat to their values. How many times you ever see 60% agree on anything? No...this election was not good for us, not at all. My prediction, watch for more states where it's legal to try to roll it back now that they feel empowered.
