yeah i watched that episode too, they definitely used a chopper. and it was thermal imaging. bottom line is if you are dealing and growing 200+ plants its a probability issue, you are going to slipp up or a client will and it will flip right to you. dont think they randomly fly thermo chops over houses, it would cost too much time and money, they are waiting for the tips and big fish to slip up. grow closet, personal, dont tell anyone and if you gotta make sure that you trust your life without hat person.

You really didnt buy that i can smell it from here line did ya,how come the mail man or nobody else could smell anything,im not buying the smell tipped em off for a second,that guy had a nice set up with air cooled lights,he did some home work & chances are he had the smell under control as well,did anybody notice the chimney glowing,chances are on top of his lights venting through the chimney he had either ozone generators or carbon filters venting through the chimney as well.
The neighbor waving & saying thank you for the camera is who tipped the cops,there was no smell.

Nothing high tech or expensive about it at all,for the cost of $400 that room could of smelled like a forest after a heavy rain,that room was not that large nor was the number of plants,the smell coulda been easily controled & most likely was.
Grow op was givin up by an informant. DEA gets search warrant. Done and done.
DEA takes up Airwing(airplane, complete with pilot! Yeah, thats right! Listen to what they actualy say in the episode. "We took up our Airiwing, huh, airplane and...") equipped with thermal imaging gear to show america how it wastes its money.
The thermal image video in this episode is a scare tactic that the DEA employed, simply because its on tv. No better time than to try and get growers thinking twice. The DEA, ATF, County and Local police don't canvas neighborhoods with thermal imaging gear. For what? Florida Girl is right, they can't obtain a search warrant through these means.
If you really watch this shit show, you'll notice just how vaugely they fill the audience in on the legal side of things. Just busting down doors. Its all BS. I have to agree with PanHead.
I have been growing some stinky buds in a 2 bedroom condo for 2+ years now. I am always polite to my neighbors. I always say hello, how are you today, with a smile. I ask them about their family, their work what ever. Someone new moves in, I make it a point to find out something about him/her from the manager and then introduce myself to him/her.
Also,, thos DEA and Police reality shows are edited so heavily to swing to their side. I bet with enough money I could have the Pope telling us he screwed his little brother and make it real looking. Oh wait. He might have done that. But you get the point.
As for the infared cameras. They are only going to pull that equipment out, if they have an informant or something. They do not just cruise the cities. To many things throw off heat that looks the same. They want information, then they run with it.
So everyone Chill, and just do not grow weed for huge illegall profits.

and he had like 8 1000s and over 300 plant 75% were in bud with everthing on hydro tables, there were x2 scrubber in there bigger than anything ive ever seen even with that the dea guys smelt right when they got out of there cars so dude was a dumb ass and went to big, grow small with high
yeild and quaility and stay safe. fyi IR and FLIR/ ae the same and just cause you got a hot bulb dont mean shit but x10 in x5 light on each side in line looks to much like a grow.im x military and there are lots of flaws to IR
