Its been so hot that I havent done anything at all really. All the glass I make is shown here, so its not like I've been hiding from everyone. ;) :) Finally cooled off a bit outside to make it not so sweltering hot during work. Here's the last batch I made.....

Notice the new steamroller....? All of them are on kittysglass.com

I dont want to be rude and i know it could be a hobby but how many pipes could you buy for 3 grand?
I dont see the question as rude at all! If you were to buy spoons only, at about $30/each for nice ones, that's about 100 spoons. If you paid $100 for nice bubblers, then about 30 bubblers. Every smoke shop and every website has glass priced differently, and the quality and style is all up to you -- you get what you pay for! If you were to buy 3 Illadelph bongs, that'd use up your $3000 - they are some of the most expensive (yet beautiful) pieces in the world.

Research check your pm's :D and your glass is coming along really well. I wish I could afford a nice setup like that...and I know that isn't even top of the line shit....if you don't mind asking what do you think it all cost in the end for that setup?

In his opening post he said he paid about $3200

After purchasing everything locally from a glass shop, the total came to $3200
Since I first read this thread I've been thinking more and more about getting into it when we get our new home. Great stuff man

Thanks! Will check PM's in a sec. :) With the oxygen concentrators, the total I've spent is around $5000 now. If you went tanked oxygen then you can save $1350 of that money, though.

The weather has been much nicer. Worked on the glass for the last few nights..... Here's the progress:

It allowed me to start on some inside out work, instead of applying the color on the outside of the tube and then forming the spoon, the inside is flared out, fumed, color added, closed back down then blow a bunch of bubbles and condense the glass a bunch to really melt in the color to the clear and then shape it to a spoon and hope to hell it doesnt crack! Notice one is heavily used already, now that I'm fuming each pipe with real silver, it adds a layer of color and effects after the pipe has been used a while. In the one shown you can see the purples and golds coming out a little in it. The stem of the spoons arent colored, but are condensed down to be super thick, aka widebody.

Also pay attention to the 2nd pipe in from the left, notice the color isnt just color lines, its a piece of multi-colored cane instead. :)

So those were fun, then I wanted to make the stems a little neater so I did a spiral condense on them and added some blobs to the side of the bowls. I really focused hard on getting a nice pinwheel at the heads too. 2 of 3 aint bad I guess. :)

Next up, I worked on frit for a while. Frit is crushed up glass powder, comes in all different coarsenesses, and by layering thick pebbles with thin sand textures, this is what I got. The one on the left with the blue has the same multi-colored cane as a few of the spoons in the pics above, and was pulled from regular tubing. The two on the right were a little bit different, they have a flatter head because the head was made flatter after the bubble was blown. The color looks odd in the pics, but looks real nice in person.

This is what I was referring to with the multi-colored cane. Instead of just a single color, it adds some effects. Thankfully, a very easy to learn trick. :)

These sure take up space. 2 nights of work! Now its time to go to the local smoke shop and see if the guy will buy some.

Thanks for watching!

I'm liking that.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but I don't think I could picture those pipes in a smoke shop. (except for the one pictured above) I know if you keep working at it they will kick ass but I feel like they are just a little under the standard right now.

Keep working hard though :)

Sir Verde: I'm with you on your first post :) I think my pipes are almost good enough to sell to stores except for the new inside out ones. I dont like using the 25x4mm tubing for them, next stretch of tube I'm going to start bigger to color more of the inside and stretch them to the size I want. The 25x4mm is a little weird to work with at first so thats why a lot of them can look a little 'off'........... I do certainly appreciate constructive criticism and where to improve, so always appreciate the honesty. :)

MakinProgress: Sure, any pipe you like $15 + $5 to ship. PM me if you'd like.
