I think it might be overwatering and/or possible bug. Any thoughts. It's straight soil and pH 7 water.

Soil is a very loose term. What does it comprises of? What is it pre amended with? For example Canna terra has 12-14-23, wetting agents, microbes and more mixed in. Garden soil will have far less. If it's straight soil from outside, you'll need to feed.
Have you checked medium ph? If there was a lot of peat and compost in the soil the medium pH will be slightly acidic.

Agree with bigger pots too.

Using a vegetable mix from the garden center. I have much bigger pots ready in the wings but this is totally new for me. Coco is my thing and that seems to be so much easier

Soil/potting mix can be far easier. Here's three weeks worth of growth in a 5 gallon pot. Just tap water and 14-2-13 sprinkled on top. Watered three or 4 times over three weeks. That's far easier than having to mix nutes and water daily..

soil is simpler by far when you look after it properly, ie giving it regular top dressings, compost teas and other teas all organic. it when you start adding inorganic nutes you kill off the benaficial bacteria that constantly breajs down the organic matter in the soil thast most growers get problems. over watering is one too. its very easy to give a plant more water then nessesary

Ok I will move to bigger pots. I am not mixing mediums. They were healthy as until this yellowing set it and now spreading aggressively in the last few days. I am clearly overwatering as I have been drenching to run off every 2 to 3 days

just give the pot water when the pot dries out, not compleatly bone dry, but dryish
