I use it for both, does well. You're right in that it doesn't matter that much. 3500K will be a little more efficient. Lower CRI will be more efficient. So much so that 3000K 70CRI has about 10% more PAR than 3000K 90CRI, but because 90CRI is a better flowering spectrum they end up with similar yield. 90CRI will finish a few days earlier and has the best 680-700nm levels. 3500K 90CRI would be fine too, but more lower frequency light than necessary IMO. 3000/90 does fantastic in veg.
