I'm trying to get an indoor growing area started in my apartment complex but I need to know everything I need to keep it as clean as possible.

tray plastic more plastic. growing is rough on a enviorment. you should use extreme caution when growing at a appartment complex..... VERY RISKY

Yah really, Try to find like a shelf or a closet that you can do it in that will allow you to keep everything tucked away and clean. You dont want anyone snoopin around if they can come in.

Try using CFL's I actually Just did a set up of 3 CFL's all wired in little shelf closet thing, it works out really well. The CFLS are low on heat and realitivly inexpensive, you can find more info on them In the Newbie forum I believe, Otherwise Great luck man!

IMO, do NOT use a closet in a rented joint. convert an old dresser or armoir that you will take with you when you leave. you'll need a good vent fan that passes over odor removing crystals or a air purifier/ionizer.

be very careful. keep flowers and/or a tomato plant on the balcony/porch to account for the fertilizers.

He's right about soil. It's a pain and suspicious. That's why hydroponics are the bomb diggity. Oh and plastic is the way to go (see sideways pic).

on the topic of closets - once had a fire dept show up and tell me they needed to inspect the sprinkler heads in the place and that there was one in the closet where I had them - I nearly shit right there, then they saw the bedroom door closed and asked if someone was in there. Told them my girl just got out of the shower and they asked me to go have a look and let them know if it matched the one in his hand. I still think it was a case-out or indirect warning cause they didn't give a damn about the other rooms. luckily I right about finished and got to harvest.
