Tums for calcium??

i have a calcium deficiency that i need to take care of and someone told me that i could use tums to help it out....anyone heard of this and if so how much should i use and whats the best way to do it....i have tums on hand, so it would be nice if i could use those....

ya i didnt figure it would be too good....i just went ahead and crushed up some egg shells and added those to the top layer of the soil....and ive got more egg shells soaking in water and im gonna let those soak for a couple of days then feed it to the plants....seems to work well in the vegetable garden when i need the calcium so i just went ahead and did it on the reefer.....tums didnt seem right to me either...i feel alot safer working with egg shells and stuff like that....

interesting thought..... BUT

there are other things in tums besides calcium
the calcium is in a measurement that may make it harder to administer to plants
