Turning coal into...Ok ..Silver!

Hi, I asked you about those chinese 10-100W led Arrays. Do you have any Info about them, which tech or any other insight? Are those the same epiled/epistar/bridge Chips or is it something else?

SDS, there's another EYE opener article in the current LEDMagazine discussing drift.

They show side-by-side pics of a 5300 lumen led after only 4000 hours v the same led but new. Pretty shocking- not in a good way

Makes the e-shine 5G look better and better, at least if we can get drop in replacement chips- and hopefully cobs

He-he...
Yes,I 'm aware of couple of leds ...
Which probably take advantage of that so called Emerson Effect ...

Warm Whites 2700 K CR I95 + Hyper red (660 ) leds ...

nice thread off course,i'm study a spectrum again,in a lamp with 2 chan, one for veg and the other for flow,
to experiment, I do not know if at the experimental level is more interesting to have 2 channels are completely separate and mix:
example: first prevalence CW/NW channel, the second channel predominantly WW/R/DR;
or is it more interesting to create a channel with spectrum suitable for vegetative and other channel with spectrum suitable for flowering.
In both cases, I ask you in the case of vegetative, what percentage of blue and red should be according to your criteria.

I'm going to make 8 panels of 24 leds each (~200 Watts at plug ) ...

With an 'experimental ' spectrum ...
My 'eightballer " ..
....'Just to finish the game ...The last ball to the last hole .... '
LOL !

Let's see how it will perform ...

did you ever try out the 'eightballer' config?

in honor of @stardustsailor , the eightballer is ALIVE
bridgelux CW and WW, and some chinese 640nm reds. This panel is considerably brighter than my old MerryWu panels (driven with the same driver) as measured by my cheap lux meter.

@BinGrower , I believe these type panels (higher quality asian 3W leds under-driven @300-350ma (1W)), would be ideal for the smaller bucket grows (5GAL) instead of the cheap "180w" UFOs. They could be placed on top and sides. This is about $14 worth of parts plus the driver (which can be as cheap as $3) for 24W of fairly efficient light. My guess is ~30=35% but I haven't been able to confirm yet.

SDS

Been in contact with BML

Wait till you see what they're up to

They have a program that allows you to select your own leds and get real time info in the right tower

Here's the blend I selected

Thoughts?

Wouldn't that arrangement be very lacking in blending of spectrums?
What's with the reference of 24" of water? Am I missing something? No wonder why I can't turn out some real fire, I'm not growing under water lol

Definitely. I think most opt for the UFO for the simplicity but if that's not your thing then what you're describing sounds great. What kind of light levels would you expect from those 24W?
