If Twitter could ban anyone they want, could they ban a white man based on his race ? A homosexual based on sexual preference?

Any person because of their race ? People who misdirect like a traffic cop on mushrooms?

Of course they can, but does that make it a good practice for politicians to make it their business to encourage private businesses to censor their customers selectively, in effort to furthers their political agendas? I'm fairly certain that if the roles were reversed and this had been Trump controlling Twitter's "content moderation", then you'd be crying all up and down the block about right-wing bias, but if it's left-wing bias it's ok because you share that same bias? Weird.
 
The point of the discussions in politics is you have an actual discussion we know youll have debates they need to be healthy

the nit picky back andforth that doesnt add anythin to any of the actual discussion needs to end, its starting to spread across all threads by certain people and it doesnt go anywhere cause its not an actual discussion so please stop

My apologies, Sunni. My reference to you was inappropriate. I don't have any problem with job you are doing in moderating this site. I was being sarcastic. The radical right consider the kind of moderation you provide a violation of their 1A and my comment was riffing off their pearl clutching, not what you do here.

laughable that you seem to think Twitter needed to follow the demands of the biden regime in suppressing the laptop story as they are some bastion of the truth. they are a private company: they chose what they chose to do. if you don't like it, change the channel.

IIRC, the trump regime and his personal DOJ aka FBI had the laptop while he was in charge. they chose not to do anything with it.

and you know what's the funniest, matt taibbi was and still is on twitter. guess their censorship doesn't keep him up at night, huh?

they demanded twitter not publish the laptop story. twitter can and did do whatever the hell they wanted to.

seems like since trump and the fbi had the laptop, they should have released its' contents if they were so damning to hunter.

from what i've read about the laptop, the system files are all out of whack aka tampered with . and the chain of custody would never stand up in a court of law so it really is a nothing burger.

it's akin to all the MAGAs calling on FOX to not call the race for biden in AZ. they chose to run with it as it was the truth. they could have easily just said it's too close to call

You don't think toxic masculinity exists in gangs? It permeates gang and prison sub-cultures.

In my post I said outright that the prevalence of toxic masculinity in today's society explains high rates of violence in the US better than the prevalence of guns. I'm blaming the myth of the good guy with the gun too. The movie Taxi Driver was my best analogy to explain what I was saying. A little more than 40% of all households in the US own one or more guns. If it were as simple as guns are why gun homicides, then the murder rate would be much higher than it is today. The problem lies in the character of the person holding that murder machine. In all but a few people, those who own a gun have no intention of causing harm outside of self defense.

Musk would rather just punt on the whole moderation thing. Except when he's the one being offended, such is the way "free speech" is viewed by the authoritarian right.
