The trouble is all the red states are gonna be burned real bad, or burning to the ground with covid by the time he gets around to it. Surviving small and medium business there will most likely go under with a failed reopening, their mainstreet and core of support will be fucked. The damage won't stay in the red states though, with people from neighboring states streaming in and out for haircuts and R&R. Then there's domestic air travel and deals have never been better and many want to travel, some even to visit grandma!

They have been doing that around here for weeks, about 10 or so loud ass trucks with American flags in back or loud cars and they just go around and around the neighborhoods. It is really old, but hey cheap gas right.

we had a couple in our unit, they were ammo barer's for the M60. They would often rush headlong to the front line of a firefight carrying 2 boxes of ammo belts to the machine gun position. Everybody knows that in a firefight the machine gun becomes #1 target...This might interest you, but you most likely already know, more is available online, including a wikipedia entry. He figure he could train them with videos, if ya repeat something enough it sinks in, kinda like Trump deals with his base. Some guys who had them in their units, killed them or arranged it, for survival, others took care of them, all were a hazard in the area of operation and a target behind the lines. It took more resources than it was worth just to take care of them in and operational zone and they were useless even for manual labor in some cases. It lowered moral and was an insult to those serving, it made their burden heavier and increased suffering for no gain, but at a loss, both material and human. Best and the brightest eh? Mc Narma was a fucking moron himself, if only a moral moron!

They should have drafted these guys, but not into the army, have them doing menial jobs in America and basic skills training to the extent that you can, make them special veterans with benefits too, they need them, make legions support centers. Compassion heals many war wounds. Most ex soldiers I know wouldn't mind at all helping their less fortunate citizens and it might be a big benefit for combat veterans too, who want to see a society that works together as a team, it would give many a mission and a purpose, caring for others. I have seen the power of such compassion heal or mitigate PTSD, my nephew served in the special forces in Afghanistan and had some very rough experiences over multiple deployments, wounds too, both physical and spiritual. The love he had for his daughters, a bit of guidance and information on how memory and conditioning works went a long way.

One time the Gunners Mates were having a training exercise on the fantail with an M60 and I asked if I could shoot it and they said I could if I could fire it from the shoulder, so I did- I weighed 125# at the time so it wasn't easy
