Shit I knew I didn't say it very well. what I was trying to say is. the 3- 42's work out to about 380w of light. lums are less for sure they also have to be very close to the plant to be of any use. Wish I could remember where I was going on the first post I'll reread and see if I can figure it out.
About the heat. the cfl light doesn't put off much heat at all but the self ballast does watt for watt the heat is about the same.

3x42=126 3x42w=126w mate there's a lot of difference between a few household cfls and a 400w h.i.d.. cfls are handy still :-)

so it is time to switch to 12/12 but i just want you to verify one more time if i use right wattage. is it enough to flower 1 plant under 1x85w 2700k cfl + 1x45w 2700k cfl ?
can you tell me the ideal wattage as cfl 2700k for flowering?
