Hello, this is my first grow. Indoor, CFL 6400k (for veg) 85W x2. From 2 fem seeds - one is Northern Lights from Pyramid Seeds, the other is a Humboldt from CH9. Because I am a genius, I mixed the two up and don't know which is which now. So here are pics :
The healthy looking bushy one is about 7.5 inches tall from top soil whereas the less vibrant plant is 6 inches, appears to have almost stopped growing, showed it's sex 2 weeks ago (pistils), and has me worried. Is it trying to flower ? Both have been getting 18/6 since sprouting. The healthier plant is showing no sex yet, and has always looked a bit better than the other.
Both in identical conditions. Each is in a 12 inch pot since sprouting by soaking (five weeks ago now), compost is houseplant compost (which contains perlite). First feed 5 days ago with Biobizz - Grow, Bloom and TopMax, each 1ml per litre of tap water (tap water is left to stand for 24 hrs to lose the chlorine), one litre per plant - this is according to a grow schedule I found online. The taller plant responded very well to the feeding, the other - not a lot of reaction. Otherwise I don't water often, the large pots tend to hold a lot of moisture for a while.
Temps ~25-27C, just a few degrees lower at night. Humidity 35-40%. Soil pH seems a bit high, about 6.9 according to soil pH/moisture tester, so I will try to reduce that. I have a 12 inch fan to keep air moving in there. No sign of pests, this is an indoor grow on 2nd floor in winter, so I don't expect any really. No pruning/cuttings yet. CFLs are about 3 inches from plants, they don't put out a lot of heat really.
So (1) - is that plant trying to flower or is it normal to show that many pistils at the top ? And why has it nearly stopped growing ? I noticed the stems of both plants are both thickening noticeably at the moment, which is cool as I was worried they looked a bit feeble.
And (2) - any other comments ? Should I prune yet ? I want to take clones but don't think the branches are long enough yet.
Thanks !!
