i currently have my northen lights autoflower growing,

i lost track of its age, but im sures its around week 5 above soil

i have two questions if someone can answer,

1) the first and second nodes fan leaves are starting to die, loss of color, going crispy, may this be because it has started to create alot of preflowers and is preparing to flower? also may nute burn cause this?

2) my plant has 11 nodes, and at the top is now alot of tiny leaves growing ( like 16 or so) is this the plant starting to form its main cola?

many thanks,
any replies and advice would be helpful :)

As far as the old growth dying and the new growth looking good, that does sound like a nitrogen def. Pics would help, but what kind of nutes are you using? what kind of soil is it?Throw out some more details and we can try to help. Pics will help answer your other question too

It's not unusual for the first sets of leaves to die by this time but like gopher says, it might be nute def too. A picture is needed.

Whether the plant forms a single main cola or a bush of colas is strain dependent. I've never grown NL. However, if the growing tips are producing leaves then the plant is still stretching. When the growing tips turn into white fuzz balls of flower pistils, she is done stretching and now setting buds. At that point the plant has finished growing and you can see the final structure of the branches and colas.

Autos are very slow until the stretch at which point things start to happen very fast.

thank you for the replys :)

i know a picture would be better than me describing it, but i don't have a camra at the moment.

anyway, i am guessing i should just let the plant get rid of the leaves on its own, rather and pulling them off myself?

thanks.

Good intuition. You may have even burned the leaves a little. "Crispy" sounds like too much fertilizer. MB the other guys are right though...no pic...no idea....I only just grew my first auto myself. Interesting experience
