Two seedlings one pot?

Hey all, just a quick question regarding two seedlings in one pot. A buddy of mine wanted to try and plant two seeds together to see what would happen and they both sprouted but only about 1/2 inch away from each other.
:leaf: Will they progress through their maturity with out any problems?
:leaf: Will one be more dominant?
:leaf: When can I tell if they are male or female?
:leaf: Is this just a dumb idea?
:wall:Stupid question just want to know some answers, here is a pic of the little things. Thanks

I wouldn't advise it, they're going to be crowded in a pot together, roots all tangled up...I'd separate them now while you can.

Just by genetics alone, one will usually out grow the other (from seed) so you will have one towering over the other, and it could cause them to compete for light, which will cause spindly growth. (stretched).

You won't know gender until it's matured, usually 6-8 weeks, they can pre flower and show before they're switched to 12/12 light cycle if you take care of them, but generally you won't know sex until a week after you switch 12/12

It's not a dumb idea trying, you won't grow killer shit the first 'go-round', nobody does. But you try and learn and move forward.

Being a first timer myself, I am doing a 12/12 from seed. 2 in one pot. A fella on the 12/12 forums has had no issues doing this, at least from 12/12 as the plant's roots won't grow as much. So I figured why not, first time and my hopes are one is male so I can just hack him down and keep the other. If two females, I may just LST em both and have a giant bush in a pot. It is just fun experimenting. It aint like there is a law saying two plant's "can't" grow in a pot together.

Hell, I have planted many a household plants in one pot and they live just fine. Not saying they won't get tangled but again, one guy is doing it with GREAT success. Go read the 12/12 and you will see. I know 12/12 is for smaller grows which makes sense....

Most def. are not on that level. I have my own, its just an idea that we thought we would try. two seeds with no purpose, one pot...why not.
