Types of Kelp and Their Applications

Hi, i'm new to organic growing and want to learn about the types of seaweed. Please direct me to a good thread on this. I'm currently using Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed Plus Iron as a foliar feed. I brewed my first tea and applied it last night, but i have not used any kelp in my tea. Is the iron in this product okay for microbial life? Is this a good product to use in my tea or do i need to get a different type of Kelp? Please advise.

Im new to organics, and only grew 3 harvests so far. If you want to go organic, Id advise you to start a worm bin and compost/leaf mold pile outside. Its very beneficial.

As far as the kelp goes, what was in your foliar and at what ratio?

Hi Kind Sir, I am on vacation for three days, so i will have to check the ratio when i get back, but I was researching yesterday on how to make EWC farm and it made me a believer that i should be making my own. I built a soil bin out of wood behind my flower room and have already put some soil in there. I have a trash bin right now, that is full of grass clippings and mostly fruit skins. to my understanding, i can use this to feed the worms?

Yes you can. I r3cently started putting a dash of glacial rock dust/oyster shell flour in with my strawberries(I leave all work food in freezer n thaw before feeding.)

I would get seaweed powder instead of maxicrop. I bought some on ebay from kelp4less.

As far as kelp. Dry meals are the best imo. You can makr simple nutrient solutions with kelp. Alfafa. Or any water soluable nutrients.

Yup. As well as most bottled ORGANIC nutrients. They still have to be stored in a sealed anaerobic enviroment for who knows how long. These things do havr s shelf life despite what yhe hydro store guys say.
