UK outdoor flowering

Hi guys, I'm thinking of growing outdoors this summer for a nice bit percy but i've heard bad things about plants not finishing in the UK. A mate of mine told me I should cover them with a black bin-bag around July. The seeds I have are one Super lemon Haze, two Lemon skunk and two Big Bang all fem of course :)

My questions are:
will the plants get sufficient air when covered?
If plants are started indoors around end of march and put out side early may will they be too big to cover with a standard size bin bag?
Anyone tried these strains outdoors in UK? I was thinking deffinately flower the SLHaze and Lemon skunk early maybe let the Big Bang go naturaly.
Also is end of march a good time to germ indoors and a minor question lol are 14 litre/ 3Gallon buckets big enough to finish in?
Any advice would be very helpfull. Thanks for reading and happy toking! :)
P.S gonna try some easy ryder (auto ak47 x lowryder 2) also.

im guessing he means by put a black bag over them to shorten the daylight hours to 12/12 to finish them faster, they should get plenty air through the day and whatever from the open bag, its not exactly very stealth tho?!

3 gal should be plenty but why arent you planting them in the ground?

spring is just round the corner, maybe consider starting your girls indoors then bringing them out for days and in for nights to harden them off.

happy growing and good luck!

Thanks man. Yeah he means put the bag on at say 8pm off at 8am. It's a guerilla grow and the ground is very crappy was gonna try and bury the pots if I can. Also the soil is very chalky in this area not sure if thats good or bad but probs bad i'd say. I get what you're saying about stealth but I'm gonna try and hide them as best as I can. Do you think any of these strains could finish in time with good results if I let them flower naturaly. Cheers!

no worries yeah thought thats what he meant ill be honest and say i havent done an outdoor yet as im in a big city and patches of grass have a million dogwalkers etc.

but i was planning on it this year and have researched a fair bit. your on the right path with burying the pot but as you say if the soils bad it might not be a good plan. if you do make sure to put the bottom of the bucket through or plenty of drain holes. plant near water if you can.

slug pellets and chicken wire round will keep rabbits away but again isnt too stealthy

as for the strains i have no idea man normally folks recommend hollands hope as its mould resistant which with the weather in the uk is a good + but you never know till you try. im going to use what spare seeds i have in the stash n see how i fare.

good luck man

Well thanks alot for the info mate. Yeah I'm starting to think I could have picked some better strains but we'll just have to wait and see. My mates told me I can grow the SLHaze indoors at his as I think It will strugle in our climate. I'll deffs be gettin some slug pellets also I heard marking you're territory (i.e dog style) around your area works as an animal deterent.
Good luck with your grows this year and again, thanks for the helpfull info :)

anything that has got sativa in it id stay away from. of course i live in BC and well yeah..... but id recommend something like a pure afghan or better yet some autoflowers they just start flowering when there big enough. only prob is you only get about 30G's off a plant. im near the 49th parallel and id say we can grow right up to mid october before it gets to scary to grow. plants start to flower in about mid august around here

Thanks for the replies guys! Caliboy80 - Yes i've heard good things about the danish outdoor strains. I spose their weather is quite similar to ours hear in Britain. As Din Gon and Ton recomended I'm gonna get me some Holland's Hope as they are meant to be mold resistant and the seed cos say they flower in 50+ days. Have you bought from Zennaseeds before? Steathy delivery? Good germ rates?

Jokero11 - Yeah thats a good idea cloning the big bang and indoorin the rest. I knew the SLHaze was a good yielder but bloody hell! 28 oz off 2 plants indoors! wow. A mate of mine got 20 oz off 3 plants outdoors and I thought that was impressive.

HolyGhost - Yeah I think I definately made a mistake gettin the sativas but lessons learned I spose. I hear what you're saying about the autos gonna get a few easyryder seeds as they are meant to be the highest yielding auto. Theres videos on youtube where people are getting about 2 1/2 oz a plant indoor so that should give me a nice bit of early smoke to help me resist cutting early. Also the easyryders from different videos all look very similar. This means good genetics right? As for you're location all I can say is I wish I were there! I hope to one day move to Canada, it just seems so relaxed on tokin n growin!
Wow that was alot of work on the fingers :)
