Guys I am suppper stoked to finally get the chance to grow! I have this chick friend whos letting me use a closet in her house and I must say it is a decent size. So I decided to try and design a set up that housed 8-10 plants. I ordered my seeds from attitude seedbank (5 auto SnowRyders and received 5 random UFO fem seeds.) So ultimately I plan on growing 2-4 of the reg Seeds and turning the top 1 or 2 into mother plants (and giving the others to my friend) to eventually clone them and the 5 autos.
Im def a newb when it comes to growing as this is my first but I have done tons of in depth reading (Medical Growers BIBLE by Jorge and Oaksterdam Universities course book) so I have a pretty general concept of how things work. I went all out and wasnt too cheap.
I painted the entire closet flat white, hung 4 t-8 Daytime and 2 plantlights.
I bought 4.7 liter containers for each plant and am using Miracle Grow Organic Choice mixed with some perlite at my medium. (I know many bash on MG but my friend who has been growing for years has always used this so I'm just sticking to the familiar.)
I have one about 10 inch fan for air movement (theres a few open spaces for ventilation)
And A small but nifty air purifier.
Im not too positive i did exactly right on starting my seedlings but heres what i did. So far i only planted 4 of the UFOS because in the end i want to make sure i know what im doing so my autos grow. I germinated 2 of them in a wet paper towel with a .5% hydrogen peroxide to help fight bacteria and put the other two directly into the soil itself just because i hear its the real way nature intended for it be grown anyway. So as of right now all 4 seeds are in the ground. Its been about 48 hours for 2 of them and about 12 for the others. The temp is anywhere around 68-78 degrees with the humidity at around 45. The soil/water content PH is a solid 7.
Overall my friend who grows was very impressed with my first little set up and vouched that my plants would grow nicely if i kept up and took care of them.
Im a little intimidated that my plants could eventually die on me and it would all to be in vain (other than the knowledge gained) so what Im asking for here is some insight and help by you fellow growers on things i could possibly do different or any additions to what I already have. I'm including some pictures so you guys have some idea of what I'm working with. Keep in mind this is my FIRST attempt ever.
