Anyway to introduce air into those bags in case myc growth slows/stalls? If no, maybe that might be your deciding factor on when to get them in tubs to try and start fruiting?Well the mycelium is getting there. About 50% give or take. I thought I was at that point already but I was mistaken. Still learning as I go.
Now the mycelium is hard like a huge eraser or something but can feel a bit of loose rice above it.
Last Saturday I inoculated 4 more bags and this time around I injected the middle of the rice then sat bag upright so the liquid should have spread a little downward from gravity.
I could try breathing it by forcing gas out but I was just actually just feeling the bags a minute ago and I can feel descent progress in how firm the top half if getting in both bags. Im guessing another 4 or 5 days it'll be solid to the top, knock wood.Anyway to introduce air into those bags in case myc growth slows/stalls? Would love to see pics as this progresses!I could try breathing it by forcing gas out but I was just actually just feeling the bags a minute ago and I can feel descent progress in how firm the top half if getting in both bags. Im guessing another 4 or 5 days it'll be solid to the top, knock wood.
I think temps being inconsistent made the process take longer.
Yeah, I happened to go back in the thread and noticed you first inoculated 10/23. I was curious because I've read Canndos jar/popcorn tek ( more than twice) and recall the jars are shook to help spread myc as well as introducing air if things start to look grayish or slow down as far as myc growth grows. But yeah, I agree, the temp swings probably slowed things down a bit. Seems to be a very important step in inoculation.I could try breathing it by forcing gas out but I was just actually just feeling the bags a minute ago and I can feel descent progress in how firm the top half if getting in both bags. Can't wait to see what you pull off . Some in the pic resemble nipplesTomorrow will be 1 month since inoculation and the bags are damn near fully colonized. The top 1" needs to harden more but it is close. On both bags.
Can't wait to move to "bulk" and start fruiting. Real curious to see if there is any noticeable difference in the two strains.
Here is a pic I found of stargazers. They look cool.View attachment 5033611
I left my instant pot at my bros down in Cali so thats why I went with uncle ben bags. To me its just for fun and even 7 grams of mushrooms would last me a long time.Holla if you want some penis envy uncut hybrid liquid culture from a reputable legal Oregon mushroom head.
never done the uncle Ben’s. If you have an instant pot, you can do bulk all day. Bag of Pennington’s wild bird seed from Walmart, half quart jars, and some self healing injection ports I can send you… one run can produce enough boomers to last you many many years of trips.
I'll get pics when I transfer to bulk. Fingers crossed, sometime this week.i second the motion for more pics please!!!
Hey man not knocking at all. If you’re looking for a handful for yourself for a few trips, keep doing what you’re doing! Just was saying if you in theory wanted to push it further, and it’s all good if you’re not into the idea, I know a guy. Mushroom hobby is…. Fuck man. For beyond a handful…. It’s kind of hard. If weed growing is. 3….consistently getting good at the mushroom production is a solid 9 to 10. It’s doable but not without quite abit of effort. IMO. Im a lite weight nowadays so those PE might be more than I can handle atm but thanks for the offer, much appreciated. Though the PE do look neat as hell when fruiting.
Fingers crossed for ya man . Good luck !Thursday i transferred the mycelium from the stargazer and golden teachers from 10/23. Neither fully colonized to the top of bags but close. I was recovering from covid so I didn't get as many pics as I wanted, only got pics of stargazer mycelium.
Stargazer mycelium was bruised and blue but seemed good otherwise.

This is stargazer mixed in coco. I covered with lid and stuck back in cabinet.

The golden teachers mycelium was pure white and I checked tub today and I can see the mycelium taking over coco. Knock on wood ill get some shrooms.
Looking forward to the next stage. Keep us postedTransplanted into coco Thursday and the golden teachers, top container, is almost colonized. Hopefully be able to induce flowering/pinning this ThursdayView attachment 5046140
