Underage Medical Marijuana

Well as someone who has the same type of parent the one major thing I'd suggest is just printing off reports and studies from actual doctors showing the benefits of MMJ for his syptoms. If that doesn't work another thing would to just have one of them go to the doc with him and then have his parent stay in the waiting room. He should talk to his doc one on one and when it comes time to needing parent consent get his doc to hopefully back him up and just explain that it really will help their son. Sometimes people will respond better to having a actual doctor explain everything to them in person. Instead of just believing something off the Internet....

Yeah how is he gonna convince his parents to take him to a MMJ doctor? I don't think the family doctors all for prop 215.

Many regular physicians write recommendations for their patients who ask. They just don't advertise the service.

You can talk to your doctor, he/she may surprise you.

How does one even get diagnosed for insomnia, just tell the doctor you can't sleep at all and thats it?
And on this note : You ask your PARENT to call a DR., the lady in the front office will give you what they call an "APPOINTMENT". Then said person will then GO to the APPOINTMENT and the DR. will EXAMINE them. Most surely the DR. will send said person to a SLEEP CLINIC and they will study your sleep pattern. Then WHEN AND IF said person is diagnosed with insomnia, that person can then talk to thier PARENT about making an APPOINTMENT with a MMD.

Please do'nt abuse the rights we DO have and ruin it for the rest of us. Children should never use any drug, unless directed by a DR. .

Okay your talking to me like im a idiot or something. Everyone knows how to make an appointment. I was asking in terms of the sleeping clinic that you brought up. Im asking all these questions so he can just have all the information.
What if they doctor tried to prescribe pills should he just say he doesn't want to take pills?

You don't need to talk about abusing any rights in here this is a discussion for a serious matter.

you go to a "regular DR" and you get diagnosed. if the Dr prescribes pills then you fill the order and try them, or not. once you get a "written diagnosis" you can get a copy of it from the records department at the Dr's office. take this copy of the diagnosis to the "pot DR". he will review it and prescribe cannabis in place of the pills.

if the kid has strict parents then why would he even consider trying to convince them of this? they won't even let him play video games, but they're gonna be cool with him smoking pot? i don't see it happening.

sounds like he will be without a mmj card till he's 18. My dad and sister died from cancer. and neither would touch mj for the pain. While you and he may think he needs mj, but he don't have the say so till he's 18. Good luck changing her mind. 60 years of goverment bull shit has taken it's toll.

You can get a MMJ Card under the age of 18 with parent consent.

Im asking how he can get them to consent.
Im asking for some guidelines for him for things to say to his parents to help convince them. Some ways to maybe ignite the conversation?

Nothing about him matters when i stated ALL of the questions in what would YOU do form.
how are we suppost to awnser that question? you just ask and they will allow it or they wont, seeing the parents are strict it probably wont be allowed. if its that seroius he should go to a doctor anyways and it can be brought up with the doctor and maybe seem more legit when a doctor tells the parent instead of you..

If "your cousin" was actually ill he would have been to a Dr., and would have a documented affliction.
What makes you think MMJ would help him when he has not even tried anything for his "problem".

You are trying to use MMJ as a route to get high, and not as a medical remedy. This is what makes people question those with actual medical problems using MMJ for relief.

you can try making him some cookies with cannabutter first and let him have a couple a day, you dispense them and have him stay at your house while u watch and observe him to make sure he is okay the first few times. Then send him home with a dozen at a time and he has to make them last for a week or so. Maybe his mom will notice as ask why he is sleeping so well, and he can produce hard evidence it works. Not sure how old he is and how much longer he has to wait till he is 18, you might have to keep doing it until he reaches of age then he can do it himself. It might be deceitful but you have to do what you have to do.

He could just ask his parents and see what their answer is. If they say NO, then he just has to live with it. Is he not mentioning his conditions to them anyway? If he is and there is a doctor involved, then the subject can be approached with the physician present. Be aware that most doctors will not even consider MM as they are locked into contracts with large pharma.

In order to get a recommendation, there should be a paper trail. He needs to see his primary care physician, then get the records stating his ailment...or the symptom of that ailment. Then he needs to seek out a specialist in MM. Because he is a minor, the parents are required for the decision to be made. He may have to follow a pharma (or whatever his parents feel is proper) route until he is old enough to seek his own best care.

ok, well i will assume that you are being honest. it just pisses me off when i see kids on the internet. sorry. tell him to look up these pills on www.Pfizer.com, and find out what the pills are all about. side affects, dangers, and such. that way he can sound like he knows what he is talking about. As for the sleep clinic, he will just go there and they will hook him up with wires and all kinds of things. put a camara on him and watch how he sleeps. lol how anyone can sleep like that escapes me.
