Unexpected Grow

Hey guys.

This past week I was given an OG Kush clone from a friend. It was a new patient gift at a dispensary and she passed it on to me. As a result I've had zero option to plan how or where to even grow this plant.

I can't afford indoor grow lights/the whole shebang. Outdoor is also not an option right now. Right now it's in an enclosed porch that's full of windows. I worry it will get too hot though since I can't control the temperature out there at present. It gets about 5 to 6 hours of sunlight every morning.

The plant is about 35cm tall right now. Its still in the pot it came in too.

I have zero grow experience and this was kind of dropped into my lap. At this point I'm trying to keep it alive while trying to plan a better set up.

That plant isn't easy to grow you should read up on everything. If you don't understand something YouTube it so you can see how to water, transplant, super crop and etc. There are two stages veg and flower both of which are dictated by how many hours of light the plant receives. For veg you can use 24 hours of light if you don't have a timer and decide whether you like the veg light always on or if you prefer 18 hours of light with 6 hours dark. For flowering you use less light most commonly 12 hours on, 12 hours off or 11 hours on, 13 hours off. You can search the whys. Humidity high in veg but not in flower 70% at first is ok but not more than 55% later and never lower than 40 the whole time. The correct temperature is 75F for both veg/flower you can go to 78F but OGK isn't real happy up there. OGK is a slow to recover plant whatever you do don't over water her. This is the number 1 mistake for newer growers. Most advice is to put your finger into the soil this is not correct. You should lift the planter to see how much it weighs it should be almost as light as it was with just the dry soil alone.

I would recommend a bubble cloner so you can multiply that plant. You take a fish tank air pump with air stone, a cheap container you light proof and that's it you can clone a huge amount. While all that's going either Google "micro grow cannabis or marijuana" otherwise Google "Guerrilla Grow Marijuana or Cannabis"

By the way she can roll at 72F too I set my heater 72-75 in the winter

^ man way too much and weed isn't hard to grow. Think they just want a simple grow.

What size pot is it in. Photos help.

I'd say you just need to pot it up to bigger pot. Don't over think it, its just like transplanting any other plant.

Weed is super easy to learn to grow maybe a little more difficult to master.

If this is your first time growing look up how CFL's can be used as grow lights definitely the go to option for when you're strapped for cash.

I posted earlier from a dying phone, so here are some pictures.

The first photo is where it's at right now. It gets a good amount of sun in the morning but like I said I can't readily control the temperature/humidity/ect. I DID plan on growing in the future, but I'm going into this single plant with no experience or plan to do it. I've never grown weed before, with the exception of a single seed I happened to find... and my cat promptly ate the baby when it sprouted :/

The second is the plant itself. I want to say it's a gallon size pot. It's in healthy condition (or looks that way to me) but there are a couple leaves which are discolored and crispy, my guess being because it got too warm.

Yeah that looks like ogk alright. She's hungry and I think she might either have hotspots in the soil or the pH is differing between watering. If you don't have a pH meter use a feeding schedule that always has a little nutrients mixed in versus mixing a large amount and alternating with plain water. It is also possible the soil is too acidic you can test soil acidity with red cabbage or baking soda and what you do is test some unused soil from the same bag in comparison to the soil in the planter i.e. remove a little for testing. If your soil is too acidic you can just flush it with water but please be aware that some tap water has plant nutrients in it such as Nitrogen, it may have toxins and it probably has hard water which will drop the Calcium out of the water. Not that I wouldn't try it if this was my only choice.

I don't think heat will be a real issue unless it gets over 100 in there she will just have some symptoms, I think she will even have solid hard nuggets. Using natural light you might even be able to exceed 100F, never tried. You need airflow constantly across her leaves when it is hot and actually airflow all the time wouldn't hurt. I would position the fan against the wall close to her where air would splash back on her. Or if the humidity is low I would have the fan blowing on some open vats of water and against the wall then splashing back on her. When nuggets are starting to form you need to reduce humidity because this can lead to bud rot.

One of the biggest problems you will face is root rot from the planter being warm all the time and if the planter is too hot roots will tend not to grow there. Heat dissipates the oxygen in the water so it is void of oxygen and roots can not grow in the absence of oxygen. Blocking the light, getting it as cold as possible during lights out and botanicare hydroguard will go a long way.

I repotted this pretty OGK girl and since then she has put on about 30cm of upward growth. I mixed and soil myself and I check the PH every week- it's always in the appropriate range. I also water the plant with the same filtered, clean water every few days when it's dry.

She still isn't getting enough sunlight. I'll move it periodically throughout the day to where there is light but it's not enough and the plant is becoming cumbersome to move. Would switching from sunlight to a lamp harm or shock the plant?

I also have some discoloration on the leaves. Some, not all, and there is a picture attached. Other places online have told me this is a nitrogen defficency but I'm not sure? Not all the leaves are discolored, only some.

It's literally a powdery substance the top layer should brush off and you can watch it fall against the light
