unrooted clones!!!urgent**

Herro everyone, I just got 6 unrooted clones from a medical club that I would like to get going. Right now they are in rockwool which I have inserted into a dixie cup. I was wondering how much light, temp, humidity do I need to be giving them for them to have the chance of taking root?


I have grown in the past from clone, so i relatively know what I'm doing. I got a 6x5 T5 fluouresent fixture, over 300 watts, I think that might be too much; They are udner my 47w desklamp as we speak... help me to not let these guys die <3

clones need warmth and hunidity. a tray with a dome would be ideal so that you can spay them with water and itll keep the humity in. the dont need much light either until they root. for 6 clones indirect light from a couple cfls, or even the 3 ft floros would work fine. just my opinion, hope that helps and makes sense... im a lil baked hehe

Yeah get em in a humidty dome. They have no root structure so they are pulling all of thier water from thier leaves. Mist em every day, keep em warm, and the t5 floros would be fine.

can u explain the humidity dome a litlte better? where could i get supply? can i just buy one etc.? As for mister i just put water into spray bottle ns pray em? wont the light burn da leaves if water on them?

Humidity dome is basically a clear plastic dome that sits atop a black plastic tray.

When it comes to water on the leaves I spray my girls with a 1000w hps on and there is no prob.

You need to spray them so they can get water through thier leaves.

If you do not have access to a humidty dome take a cardbord box and cut the top off. Line the inside with mylar and cover with clear plastic wrap for a large version.

Or like Twisty man said take a large clear plastic cup and put over the cuttings.

The key is to not let them dry out until they have a root structure.

lol you say you have successfully cloned before and you dont know what a humidity dome is lol ?

get like a heating pad (easiest item to obtain) and a humidity dome place the heating pad under the dome so it warms up the base of your dome and put those bitches under a single like 2' fluoro they dont require much light just enough to get them to root...

i've GROWN before, never actually have to clone the platns myself since I have very easy access to already rooted clones from the medical clubs...

this time though, they had no rootes ones for sale, but were selling unrooted clones in rockwool for 2$ each(do you pass that up)?


Anyway, for my humidity dome, I went to home depot and bought 2 plastic containers(I guess you can call them this) put clones in bottom tray, sprayed the top part with water/plants, put the other part ontop...


the humidity dome seemed pretty simple...I then took this and put under my t5 fixture, instead of 6 bulbs right nowt hough, I am using 3; 1HO and 2 regular cool white....


2 of the clones showed roots out of the rockwool within a few days of me putting them in the dome... the other 4 have shown no progress, they dont look like they are dieing but there doesnt seem to be any roots forming... I did NOT use a heating pad, but was thinking of purchasing one to speed up this process... At this point, a week after putting them into the dome, would the heating dome possibly change these clones from rooting vs. non rooting...


At this point, I've assumed that the 2 that rooted are going to be the only ones that develop roots..
