Unstable super chronic strain is it worth it?

My buddy just dropped off some evon from his harvest and oh my god even beats my other buddys stuff and he'll give me clones but, he says it very unstable and can morph out on you. So is it worth it? I'm in my garden everyday so I would think that I'll notice if they start morphing but I'm new at this and maybe I would'nt notice till it's too late. I can't afford to have my stuff seed out on me. Or should I just get a couple going and just watch those ones, I just don't know what to do? Oh did I say he got 4 oz off one plant and 2-3 off all the others. And by unstable does he mean the seeds produced will yield a wide range of phenotypes, some more potent, vigorous / higher yielding than others?
