I just love how MI's republicans answer to the MM issue is to to possibly create a new department to oversee the program, and now police calling for more regulations in these bills. Democrats are horrible too don't get me wrong, but the republican hypocrisy is always far more laughable.

I can understand the concern that a lot of people have with the proposed bills. However, there are important provisions within those bills that involve edibles and extracts which are currently not allowed due to the interpretation of the law by the Michigan Supreme Court. I feel that having a medical marijuana law doesn't mean as much when you can't possess RSO or any edible extracts to treat illnesses. The other parts regarding dispensaries don't really bother or concern me. (It's about money.) I live in an area that had A LOT of dispensaries before the the ban. It wasn't bad then and I doubt it would change if the bill passed. I think the passing of these bills, with the assumed step down from the federal gov't, would create a positive cannabis atmosphere for a recreational use initiative come 2016.

I feel as if the new changes will create technicalities for caregivers to possibly violate. I hope that I an wrong. Labeling comes to mind and I'm sure our friends in Lansing came up with more nuances.

Well I came late to the party, after many of the dispensaries closed down. Its now a min 20 mins one way drive for me to get my meds and about an hour drive to go to G3C in Flint. The way I see it, I could drive for 20 mins and wait in line for 5 to 15 mins and pay $15 to $20 a gram and then drive home to sample the bud or I could drive for about an hour and pay $10 gram that are larger then the grams I pay $15-$20 for and sample the stuff on the spot

So guess what I've been doing, yep, always been going to Flint but when I'm out, then I gotta suffer until I got a few hours and a car to use. I don't see Lansing helping me, either the D's or the R's. They can just leave everything alone, IMO. I don't see anything better then G3C happening soon.

Good point about oils and edible extracts, those too are available to buy in Flint but they are illegal if a cop wanted to be picky about it. That be the only good to happen if Lansing passed any bill

No love lost here for HB4271 and their special interests, but they have a check and balance duty in HB 5104. An activist Court of Appeals has no right to willfully rewrite our laws through disputable opinions as they have. Without this action only more will lose respect for the law and process. I've got my fingers crossed ...

I think they just skipped both bills.... Was watching live and they were following the agenda then skipped right over the two bills

It's been quite a while since I've visited G3C, but I feel you brother. Do you have any idea what their stance was on codifying provisioning centers (aka dispensaries) into law? As Farmers Markets are a competing business model that would be no longer be consistent with this law, one could assume that patient/caregiver option would cease to exist

Why would you assume that provisioning centers would end patient/caregiver? Or did I misunderstand?
I was referring to the Farmers Market business model in which only the facility is provided and patients/caregivers exchange "overages" in a more consumer friendly and economic manner. HB4271 would codify exactly how "overages" are handled by law and that is specifically by a "provisioning center" which is the same 20-30$ gram dispensary business model currently operating all over the state.

Nope, no idea, I'm a total newbie over there, all I know is its the coolest place I've ever seen in my life, not only can one smoke bud inside there but one can also buy bud at a fair price. I seen some cool public parks in Detroit in the 1980's but even those were not as cool so many days of the week. G3C is open 5 days a week starting at 10 am...I've been there as early as 10:30 am and the place was rocking, lots of sellers and users. Now if only they turn up the music and play hip hop only, lol
