Updating equipment and need quick bit of advice

Greetings,

I am updating my grow space with new equipment and would like your opinion. I have a 4x6 flowering space, and I would like to use wither 1 - 1000 watt or 2 - 600 watt lights. I know that 2-600s equal more lumens and better coverage. I was TOLD at the shop that 1 1000 watt light gets hotter than 2 600 watt lights, but that sounds like BS to me because the latter has more wattage. I am cooling with a six inch inline fan.

Please help me decide. The cost difference is negligible, so I'd really like to make the decision based on performance and heat. My gut says 2-600s because of the rectangular shape of the room, but only if they don't create more heat than a 1000. Many thanks.

def the 2- 600w is what i would go with for sure.
Me too. Not sure about heat diffs, probably not huge since the 600w is reputed to be the most efficient size. Only possible caveat is maybe more ducting or whatever, bigger fan, etc. Minor issues.

Well as far as ducting goes, I'd simply connect two identical 6 inch cool tubes. Simple straight run ventilation. The 6 inch vortex fan should be able to handle it

I would do the dual 600's, especially in a 7' tall tent. Been there...done it. 1000 watts is a lot to put over your girls, especially when they start reaching for the roof and have no where to go except into the light. Its good that you have cool tubes, but you might consider a fan or two blowing across the tops and I put little 6" inline duct fans into the exhaust sleeves in the walls of the tent. Good luck. Peace

Thanks for the equation, Snaps. I figured as much. Winter time would be no problem with excess heat, but I don't know if Summer would be a good time to use 1200w
