Upgrading to an OP setup (OPINIONS PLEASE)

so currently using amazon equipment, noisey oscilation and extraction fans has always done me justice and lasted a good amount of time

Firstly i would like to upgrade my lighting i found a grower who had been robbbed and manged to get his 8 pot green man system only used once easy to clean and all parts working £1300 and 4x mars II led 1600W (600Wactual) £300 each the whole shabang down to £640 i didnt necessarily need, i am currently using the lights but still using coco in normal pots as i decided not to make the jump to hydro initial plan was to just sell on the equipment for a pofit i've done 2 crops with so anythings a profit at this point.

With 4x 600W with both veg and bloom on in a 1.2 x 2.4 it's only giving me about 40,000 PAR on the canopy, amazing spread and gaining amazing results but i know with a more in date LED i could reach this kind of PAR value without using so many watts, heat is okay and flower is looking like it may be done in the breeders recommended time period but the lights are huge, heavy. my TENT HAS PLASTIC POLES I DON'T KNOW HOW ITS HELD IT THIS LONG LOL

1.2 x 2.4 x 2.2 budbox pro XXL i want the sexy transition from diamond mylar tents to a budbox pro with metal poles and white lining, once the LED'S are replaced i won't need metal poles but my amazon tent has lasted me near on 2 years im happy to pay a couple hundred for the budbox the only information i cannot find is how big the vent is which i need to know for the next part

inline extraction fan, this will possibly be my biggest purchase i am considering the silent revolution fans im happy to pay the £1000 for a 12" if it can fit it these are EC and digitally controlled i possibly see it as my best option as it comes with a few years guarantee (can anyone recommend any other brands)

oscillation fans i have per 1.2m of grow space 1 standing fan with the stand removed hung upside down and 1 tower fan in the corner, realised i was making more noise than good i think 1 stand fan hanging is enough per 1.2 so i would like everyones recommendation on which is a good investment like one which runs quite with speed settings which actually have a big difference (some fans are only a little bit less powerful on low setting and can end up being too strong a breeze etc and these ones from amazon vibrate a lot.

So for my upgrade im 100% getting the budbox pro & i already have the greenman, selling on these lights will get me £400-£600 maybe £800 if i wait around i also have my own finances willing to put in budget isn't a worry
so... if you had a green man and you were me
Which LED?
Which inline exhaust fan?
which oscillation fan?

notes ill add
the MAXIBRIGHT LED'S may be a bit out of what i will allow to be my budget as i'm still at risk of police taking my stuff does anyone know which LED'S are newer technology and can give me 600W+ per 1.2m or a PAR reading just shy of light burn if i can achieve this from 2 LED's for my tent there will be so much less heat making me probably only need an 8" silent revolution fan taking that price down from £1000 to £600

First off these are the dimensions of the cable socks, duct socks and vents in that tent you mentioned.
  • 2 x front doors, 2 x side doors
  • 4 x 100mm cable socks
  • 2 x 275mm extraction vent, 2 x 225mm intake vents
  • 2 x 275mm air-cooled light socks

In regards to the fan I assume you means one of these

I used to own an 8" very similar and I personally don't rate them, least not for volume levels.
They are a very powerful fan and a good work horse, built very well but been built into a silencer doesn't do much for the 50db rating mine was.
These are a step up, they were not about at that time but without seeing the db rating I would be reluctant to spend that much on a fan if it were not quiet.

If you switch to 1200w of good LED you wont need bigger than the 8" though.
I would do a bit of digging, see if you can get the decibel rating from the company.
I have no doubt it would run for 10 years solid 24/7 but it pisses me off when companies sell "silent" fans without boasting about the dB rating.
Makes me suspicious.

Another option would be the ac infinity which diyleduk.com have just started importing and selling in the UK, previously had to be imported from the states.
Those are genuinely quiet fans with good performance and come with either speed controller or temp probe controlled speed control.
Also not as expensive. £300 for the 10" with temp controller.

As far as LEDs go guy I just mentioned sells a lot of the best options , all which are worth using.
Personally I would go for 2x lumatek zeus pro 600s . One of the best tested lights there is.
But good LEDs are not cheap fella. However they will cut your power consumption and heat in half compared to using 4x mars1600s.

Oscillating fans are loud mate, no matter what you get. One of my old favourite were 16" wall mounted fans mounted to the tent ceiling, A single one can take care of all the 2.4x1.2 tent. I had no trouble fitting it in my old space.

Other than that I like monkey fans, multiple smaller ones that clip to tent poles and actually stay where they are.
One thing you can do is connect your fans to a variac and reduce the voltage to slow them down. But you will always have some noise from them, mostly just hum or air whoosh.

What ever you do don't buy remote control digital fans, you want analog or if you have a power cut they wont turn back on til you press the remote.

I was like, hmm is there something other than a different spelling that makes this work in the UK? lol
You never know what new nonsense they are trying to push onto growers these days. Thought it might be something I haven't heard of.
Super duper flavournoids that tickle your roots to make plants taste better and a great way to stay in shape.

You guys are just more economical with your letters, must of been a tax on them some point like there was a light tax in the uk , we all bricked our windows up.
That was a real tax long ago btw, light tax.

thanks thats why i came to ask on here i can't find any DB ratings and even on onestopgrowshops youtube they display and talk about the fan but don't run it asif they are trying to hide the fact it is still loud
i hear you about all oscilating fans being loud but these cheap ones have a lot of motor vibration so much so that it's physical to see, if 4? monkey fans are sufficient that sounds good i think they will be a lot quieter than this my neighbours are cool but it's still something me and him could do without

okay so the flavours explanation are you ready it's slang but the basics of it is
stardawg (its everywhere) 160 for an oz up to 180-200 for some strong amnesia but most people in UK grab 3.5s (three fizzles) 3.5gs for £30 no matter what it is
but flavours can cost you upwards of £60 per gram
cali is £80

cali in uk and dam is just nice clean weed

flavours will be like orange but it smells like 10 freshly peeled orange skins and tastes 100% delicious more like orange than weed

some english el chapos got a secret n i want it
considering the possibility i just need to push my boundries with these upgrades and the switch to hydro

Right I think I get ya. Your talking terpenes. Not some bottle of shit you add like they do to vape carts?
Best thing you can do is get some good strains , try some American breeders and select the most stinky or tasty strains.
Grow out a few packs, select a keeper based on what ever qualities your after.

Most of that cali weed is just grow in UK and tinned or packaged nicely.
We are always a bit behind on latest strains, usually what was popular last year over there is popular here now.

Don't get dragged into adding fancy bottles into your grow, just pick a good strain or two,use a simple 2-3 part nutrient, grow healthy plants and you will get the most out of them. Let them go until they are properly finished. Dry slow and you will set yourself above a lot of the average stuff that goes around.

As for monkey fans, they don't vibrate as bad as most fans, only clip on fan ive had that actually stays where you put it.
They come in 3-4 sizes, just don't buy the big 30w one because its like a jet engine.
The oscillating ones made a little bit more noise as they turn.

This is some of the best advice you will get. In my 30 years of growing, the biggest and best crops were from using only base nutrients and calmag if using RO water. You don't need to buy a bunch of expensive bottles with fancy labels making incredible claims. Just keep it simple. pH is more important than any other number, you will learn this.

In fact, I say avoid expensive nutrients with fancy bottles. If you like liquid nutrients I highly recommend GH Flora 3 part. If you like dry salts then options are available (not sure what in your country but Corey does I am sure).

i think i'll get 4 non oscillating fans and direct them all clockwise to create a whirlwind effect for the plants instead of anything direct

im with you guys, my current i haven't topped up on all of the bottles i'm just using the A+B with added in leftover of big bud, bud candy etc just till they are empty enough to go into the bin :)

im debating instead of growing through loads until i find the right one i might just go to a cannabis cup i think there they will have smokeable samples, a live plant and the grower for me to ask what they used
