URGENT: Leaves have yellow spots (keep getting uglier)

First time grow
Double Diesel Ryder (auto)
Day #9 from seed
Indoor tent grow with 150w

Please look at the pics and tell me if its a water problem. I have tried so hard not to overwater them that maybe I am underwatering them, but I don't think that is the problem.

I also put another picture to check if the lights are at a good distance.

All the help given is appreciated beforehand.

could be underwatering but also dont worry about the first fan leaves, some strains just burn those leaves up in no time, if they start to twist dont worry too much, the white berry i am doing has done it on all five plants. they normally twist on 24hr light but i have mine on 18hr and they were still doing it.
give them some water as they need the soil a bit damp to get nutrients, also dont just water a bit on the top soil as you will get lots of roots at the top,(bottom feed also) give them 200ml they will be fine and start to grow quicker aswell, you just dont want it ringing wet so to speak.
good luck with the grow.

also you should have those pots full with soil, is there any reason you have the soil so low down. ivenever grown autos so someone on here will let you know when to add nutes, i know you use them a lot earlier than when you do a standard grow.

Excellent tips.

I will readjust the light so its a bit higher. And see if that helps.

I will also water the plants every 2 days.

How can I know if I am overwatering them?

when you have watered the plants pick it up and feel how heavy the pot is, you will soon learn what a pot with moisture in feels like in weight. dont be afraid to water though, underwatering can be just as bad as overwatering but you do see a lot more problems from people who have overwatered, somer new growers want to keep PLAYING with there plants and dont give there plants time to drink water/nutes and so on. one thing you have done is to leave your plants to there own devices so to speak which is the right way! just get more soil in, but not just yet. wait a week or so until the plant is looking healthier and then put more soil in, i prob dont have to say this but dont just add soil on top you will have to take the plant out of that pot and put soil in the bottom, message me day before you do it and ill do a step by step.
just water for now and depending on what you think start to give a tiny bit of nutes, 1/4 dose first and work your way up.
do you know what nutes you are going to be using?
good luck

hey lu,
excellent info bro. i did as you said and gave the plant a nice dose of water and growth skyrocketed over the last 36hrs. since i am new at this i am not that good at knowing when the pot is heavy or not heavy with regards to the amount of water in it so i judge the water frequency by feeling the soil with my finger. as you said, i need to put more soil in, the question is how? i left a bit of space with regards to filling the pot with soil because ive heard of many growers having week central stems so i was going to let the plant grow a bit and then fill with soil on top to give stability. the nutes i have are bcuzz: soil nutrition a and b, root booster, soil booster, etc. so when should i start feeding (now or should i wait a bit for plants to grow more). by the way, aside from that plant in the picture i have 3 more that i planted 1 week after and they broke ground 2 days ago. looking good for now.
thanks again,
utop

wait till the soil is dry and roots trying to search for water thus growing.
do not feed them till their 2nd or 3rd set of leaves, you may even wait for the plant to show some yellowing on the first leaves for the sign of feeding time.
you can add soil to the top but its not as efficient as adding to the bottom of the pot.i would wait a bit more for the roots form and transplant to a bigger pot.
you can start with the bcuzz on a very light dose.

as congo said wait until there thrid set of leaves, to put more soil in the pot wait until make sure the soil is moist and push the pot gently on the sides. lay your fingers around the stem and top soil so your hand is flat. then with your other hand lift the pot and tip upside down, sometimes you will have to squeeze the pot a bit to get the whole thing come out, have your new soil ready to go straight in.
make sure the soil you are putting in is moist but not wet and when you get the plant from the pot put enough soil in the bottom , looks to be an inch or two you will need. then put your plant on top of the new soil and fill in the sides. do things gently, it should not be too bad for you and if you can get someone to hold the plant for you while you put soil into bottom of pot.
i would not put soil in yet as it will be fine for a while, at least your learning now so on your next grow you will fill right to top with soil. if theres anything you are unsure of just let me know.
good luck

Lu,
Hows it going? I have a new pic for you.
Do you think that now she is ready for the NUTES?
By the way, in a step by step but more detailed than in the previous message tell me how to add more soil to the bottom.

Best,
J
