What do you mean likely? They WERE looking for her and were planning to murder her. People who were there with the intent to commit those crimes said so.

Dude, ever person who was threatened or felt threatened by Trump's attempted coup experienced trauma. I was traumatized by what I saw. It's not something to poke fun at. That fucker Trump riled up a mob and sent them to the nation's Capitol Building. Some in that mob were intent on taking hostages and killing Trump's political enemies. This is what really happened and your story about AOC is just a shitty attempt at deflecting the narrative away from Trump's "wild" time on Jan 6.

I can understand why you want to minimize what happened on that day. It's a horrible story and the leader of that act was your very own beloved Trump.

I never said it was something to laugh at. And of course people got scarred. Some witnessed a person get shot. I never said it was funny. It’s a day that’s in infamy now.

I did say however that AOC claiming her story of being in IMMEDIATE danger by claiming she was present and on the same grounds the insurrection took place is and always will be a lie.
My responses don’t group with any political party. Just some common sense. Someone that lied about being present and Hiding from an immediate threat to later be proven you werent even there. And is the same person that cried to a parking lot for a photo op against the border, But won’t send speak out against Biden’s border crisis.
It’s just my opinion that she’s there for more of a Narrative.
considering how she gets paid through our taxes, I think she should worry more about the truth than being a story teller

The 'both sides' troll stops when you have Republicans actively pushing a narrative that has been repeatedly shown to be Russian propaganda to try to maintain political power. McConnell even stopping any response in 2016 when the attack on our society was exposed. The Democratic party is the only one actively trying to legislate for 100% of our nation and not just the Wealthy White Heterosexual Male Only agenda like the Republicans have been since at least Carter.

That is why the 'both sides' troll is nonsense. If you cherry pick what you want to understand then sure you can make anything look bad, but that doesn't make it reality.

In an Instagram Live video about the riots, she explained that she was in her office in a neighboring building on the Capitol complex, where she experienced a frightening encounter with a Capitol police officer who she said didn’t announce himself.

THE FACTS: Days after Ocasio-Cortez opened upabout the Capitol attack and her past sexual assault in an Instagram Live video on Feb. 2, viral social media posts are falsely accusing her of lying about the details.

“Sooo is Twitter going to fact-check AOC’s fake story about imaginary mobs in her hallway?” read one Facebook post viewed more than 66,000 times on Thursday. “Or do they only do that to conservatives…”

“AOC wasn’t even in the Capitol Building during her ‘near-death’ experience,” read another Facebook post viewed more than 100,000 times. “One big lie. #AlexandriaOcasioSmollett.”

The hashtag #AlexandriaOcasioSmollett, which appeared in multiple social media posts this week and was trending nationwide on Twitter Wednesday night, appeared to liken the congresswoman to former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of staging a racist, anti-gay attack against himself in 2019.

But Ocasio-Cortez never claimed she was in the main domed Capitol building during the melee. In fact, in her video explaining her experience of the insurrection, she made a point to clarify that she was in her congressional office in a different building nearby.

“For you all to know, there’s the Capitol Hill complex,” she told her Instagram followers. “But members of Congress, except for, you know, the speaker and other very, very high ranking ones, don’t actually work in a building with the dome. There’s buildings like right next to the dome, and that’s where our actual offices are.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s office is across the street from the main Capitol building, in the Cannon building, which AP reporters on the scene confirmed was evacuated during the riots.

The Cannon building is also connected to the Capitol building by a series of tunnels, which allow members of Congress to travel between buildings underground.

Those tunnels were mentioned in some earlier communications between militia members charged in the insurrection, suggesting rioters planned to use them to attack members of Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez also never claimed she encountered rioters personally, despite false posts claiming she did.

In her hour-and-a-half long video, she talked about the rising tension and sense of danger she felt in the days leading up to the attack, as protesters gathered around the Capitol and she began receiving warnings that violence was expected on Jan. 6.

Ocasio-Cortez then went on to describe the events of the afternoon itself. She said she was in her office when she heard repeated bangs on the door, like someone was trying to get in. Her legislative director told her to hide, and she went into the bathroom. She then heard a male voice yelling, “Where is she?”

She came out after her legislative director told her to, and a Capitol police officer was in the office. He didn’t announce himself, and he appeared angry. She said the officer told them to go to another building, but didn’t say specifically where or escort them, leaving her feeling unsafe.

Ocasio-Cortez then described evacuating to a different building, where she took shelter in a colleague’s office. She said as she traveled there, she could hear rioters “yelling and screaming” outside as they tried to break into that building.

Some of the viral posts accusing Ocasio-Cortez of lying referred to a now-corrected Newsweek article that originally included the false claim that she spoke of rioters breaking into her office.

“A previous version of this story stated that Ocasio-Cortez’s office was entered by rioters,” reads Newsweek’s correction on the story. “Ocasio-Cortez’s office was actually entered by a Capitol police officer that did not identify himself. Newsweek regrets the error.”

And of course I understand her fear, if she WAS there things definitely would be different today.

Everyone has politicians that they wish weren’t a part of our government. ONE of Mine Just happens to be AOC because she likes to make a narrative.

look at the female fire fighter who knew ole George was dead and wanted give him CPR when she asked Chauvin to take his pulse and he refused giving her a 'faces of the confederacy' look- he just dug in his toe to the pavement a little harder each time.

I understand why you want to minimize what happened on Jan 6. You make it out as if nothing that bad happened and our public outrage are all just due to some scairdy cat Democrat women who blew the situation out of proportion. You pick AOC in particular for whatever bad reason.

What you are doing is gaslighting. It's an old trick used by abusers, criminals, socio-paths and totalitarian governments to avoid consequences of their actions. Trump flat out wore that dirty tactic into the ground. Doesn't work any more. Find something else to do. .

She never said she was there, but she was not very far away either. What you are saying is the equivalent of someone at Va Tech saying they were scared for their life when they got the alert that there was a active shooter, even though it was in a completely different part of campus that they were located.

My not agreeing with you is because you are providing the same narrative that propagandists are pushing to amplify hate and fear of 'them' so they can keep their cultists.
