are you all really that suprised this happened? our government is the biggest group of habitual liars alive today. this is a perfect example because our gov does whatever they want when they feel like it and i guarentee that the reason they gave for the plane incident was 110% bullshit..lol sorry im kind of a conspiracy theorist and i dont trust my gov as far as i could kick them. i wouldnt be suprised if they have something up there sleeves with this whole plane thing..

im sorry but anyone who thinks these athf led boards are bombs is just as stupid as someone who believes that airforce one is gonna blow up thier office. im in the uk and i dont think that every asian with a beard and a back pack is going to blow up my bus to work.

as for your argument yeah the government should have notified people that they were doing a photo shoot but locking them up? come on

again you are assuming that common people are to know the difference from a white 747 that is commerical and a white 747 that happens to be airforce one ????

They all look the same to me

if you saw a rocket flying toward your home/office, would you assume its the presidents payload on its way to a different target ? or would you get the fuck out ??

I thought the stunt was pretty tasteless myself, actually. I think they should've notified people they were doing it... because the sight of a low-flying jumbo jet JUST MIGHT alarm the good folks of New York City.

I can understand why they would not give advance notice of the Presidents flight plan for security concerns (Terrorists do have access to anti-aircraft missiles) however they should of let the mayor and chief of police know prior to flying in sensitive airspace in an unusual fashion.

Just another example of the ClusterF&#k our government is in. They have no real touch with the average American anymore since they are sheltered from everyday life by their seats of power.

I do however think that the people that were freaked out by this over-reacted in the extreme, just like ATHF thing. I however don't think anyone in the Gov should face prosecution for this incident, just like I don't think that the ATHF people should have been arrested either.

Unfortunately there is no laws on the books for Felony Stupidity, but then again if there were we would have to lock up most of the politicians which could be a good thing. ;-) Prison overcrowding would surely get worse LoL.

If I saw a big plane being escorted by a fighter jet I would assume that the more likely scenario is that it's our government doing something before I would think "OMG TERRORISTS!". If the plane was a threat it would of been being fired upon by the Fighter and not escorted.

Oh, and before some of you get me wrong I am not a governmental apologist, I am actually so disgusted with the direction our Nation is taking that I would like to leave this country as soon as possible. Panama sounds like a nice place to "retire" to until we break apart and end up forming a "North American Union" composed of individual states that succeed from the Union which is what I think is the most likely scenario for our country if the Fed doesn't stop stomping on the 10th ammendment.

I understand that the president was not on the plane, but it would still be an attack at a symbol of our country. If they could establish that they could take out Air Force One (Which, it wasn't if the president was not on it.) it would surely send a message to the country that nobody is safe, which is the goal of most terrorist attacks.

I still think that people over-reacted and while I am disgusted with the government wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars for photo ops during a recession, that is not the what most people are outraged about, which I frankly find surprising.

I think people have a legitimate reason to be pissed but they seem to be focused on the "I'm Scared" factor and not the "what the hell are you idiots doing with my tax money" factor.

America, try being less scared, more vigilant to our governments excesses, and more pissed about what they are doing. (the last will come automatically with the 2nd) :-?
