I was lucky enough to meet him recently and his kindness to me and my wife was incredible. He gifted me 22 packs of seeds, t shirts, Useful Seeds pens and an edible. He looked like a cross between Santa and Jerry Garcia and had the same kind nature of both. When I asked if I could share some of the seeds he gave me he replied with his company slogan and said he'd be happy if I Shared the Love. RIP Useful, you will be sorely missed by your dedicated fans, friends and family.

Very true. He used to urge me to put aside my combative nature and ignore the antagonists. He gave me a ton of advice and guidance as a beginning seed maker, and offered me anything in his collection for free if I wanted to use them in crosses. I'm sorry I never had a chance to know him off the internet.

Thanks to everyone taking the time to drop a comment. I’ll be showing these kind words to his family. I hope everyone knows how much each of you meant to Useful. We often spoke of members in this community and he was always beyond grateful for everyone.

Useful, yourself and Bobs Bitchen Beans we're some of the first seeds I looked at in DC Seed Exchange when I found out about them in 2018 or so. All of you guys were selling seeds for a very fair price and Paul recommended you guys to me as I was looking for quality genetics for a good price. The Mint Chocolate Trip I grew from him back then was the first really good plant I had ever grown and I still have 6 seeds of it in the seed stash. Going to try and make some more of those down the road if his family doesn't step in to continue his work.

He was kind enough to meet me at Kroger's in town when I reached out to him to offer some cuts in February of this year. Even though I told him I didn't want anything from him he brought me a huge bag of seeds, t shirts, pens and even an edible. He was so kind and gave me and my wife a big hug as he said he was a hugger. I heard from him 2/26 when he texted me the cuts were "standing at attention". His kindness and generosity was amazing and I'm so sorry for the loss to your family. I will never forget how sincere and kind he was. Thanks for taking the time to let his growing family know about this.
