Using a 6" Y connector on exhuast set up.

I have a 6” 600 watt air cooled hood. Can I run my ducting from a window with fresh air to the hood, out the other side and into a y connector. On the left side of the y connector I want to run my carbon filter. Then putting the fan on the front side then running the ducting out the other side of the tent to exhaust. I have a 6”450cfm fan with a 4’x4’x6.6’ tent. It sounds like it would work. Any comments?

Sounds like a bad idea.
I think it has potential for alot of problems.
One side might pull more than the other with the different resistances.

Personally I couldn't find a y. I used a t.
Although I had two fans it still cut my exhaust down. I lost alot of the negative pressure in my tent.

Also, if you don't have your light sealed 100 percent then you can leak smell.

So personally I would run two fans. Or pull tent air through light then filter and out. Or through light out into the filter

If you only have one fan to work with and an air cooled hood, suck through your filter to fan, push from your fan through hood, to extraction point and allow intakes to be passive in grow space. Pushing air through a hood means if there are small leaks it pushes cleaned air back into you grow space, rather than sucking smelly air through the leak.

FILTER>FAN>HOOD>OUT

Exactly right. No hot air on the fan, and you're pulling ALL THE AIR through a filter rather than those fuckin stupid INLINE filters.
