I have an 800cfm Rhino Fan. I use it with a variac controller, it puts out about 400cfm when on it's second setting (out of five).
If I use a carbon filter rated for a 800cfm, with a fan working at 400cfm, will the filter still be effective 1? I figured it will be drawing the air through the filter slower, hence creating more contact with the carbon and less chance of odour being emitted.
I'm trying to build margins into my design in the event I need to up the exhaust speed due to temperature spikes, but like many of you, want to run an overrated fan at a lower speed to reduce noise levels.
Thanks in advance
