It helps get the chlorine out of your water and oxygenates it so your eyes don't get red when you smoke whatever you grow.

Well, maybe the eye part was made up...

lol. Ya thats what i heard as well (the chlorine part). This probably gonna be the best route to go as watering 20-30 gall pots from other sources of water make the baby jesus cry

My opinion. It will help remove the Chlorine, what won't come out is the Chloramine. There was a good thread in the general section with some research docs and such that Chlorine does not harm the micro heard as much as believed. Most of the chlorine is filtered thru the soil or attached in the first few inches of soil. Yes some micros may be lost . Outdoors Micros are very abundant and really don't need to be added if your soil and organic feed is good. Ones landscape does fine on tap water.. My tap water you can smell the Chlorine in it. I run my hose thru an inline filter and water straight from the hose. The filter probably don't even do much. What will really helps is your organic solution being bubbled before feeding and breeding more mycos..

Ya i have heard this as well actually. I bought a hose filter that supposedly filters out the chloramines as well. Probably just gonna blast into the reservoirs and stir every hour or so!

I spent 3 years always letting my res water sit out and airate to get the chlorine out. A little over a year ago I started looking for an alternative to H202 to steralize my res. After alot of reading I found people were using chlorinated water with great success on their clones instead of bottled or RO or anything else. So I tried it, and low and behold I started getting roots 1-2 days faster. A few months later after more reading and talking to a couple people I started using a chlorine solution in my res instead of the H2O2, and its been working great. As you read into it, you'll find that Chlorine actually has benefits and is very natural in a growing plant at reasonable levels. I mix about 1/2 tsp of pool shock chlorine into 1 gallon of water to make a solution. I then mix that solution with my res water at 1 oz per gallon every 4 days or so. Its been working great for about the last year. If you look there are actual products being sold one is called clear rez, and they are basically a chlorine solution that is premixed. The pool shock cost me 9 dollars last year and you can't even tell I have used any out of it yet.

Ya it took me along time to pull the trigger and try it. Most people I tell about it think I'm crazy, except the guys I've talked to that have also done it. The guy at the hydro shop clued me into the pool shock, when I asked about the clear res. He says he has a bunch of customers that use the pool shock and have for years and that its silly to pay for the clear rez. I figured if he wasn't trying to sell me something he had that he might be telling the truth :).

now why we put air stones in that 52 gallon drum of water . well me if im hydro and there are nutrients in the water . it mixes up the nutrients other wise the nutrients will tent to settle and the plants could get a hot dose . but for plain water ? what is the point ?
